Not to mention that when Taylor was debuting, it wasn't a big country trend so if she could do well in the late 2000s, she could definitely do well in the late 1990s.

And if we're not saying that Taylor would be releasing the exact same music in 1999 are we? That's like asking if Britney would be successful in the 1950s and then believing she'd be releasing Baby One More Time and Slave 4 U back then. It's about whether the artist would appeal not the music that is related to a specific time would appeal back then.

It's weird that Xtina stans know she's a queen of pop, yet Britney stans settle for a past title that only her song writers' utter.

A princess would at very least think she held enough merit to be compared to a peer but she doesn't even care about herself as a artist, and would rather have a legend's voice than her own. That shows her value.
