E.T. was released as a remix as a ploy to get it to #1. Otherwise people wouldn't buy it cuz they already had the album...
No, that was released because of a deal with Bloodshy & Avant, which is also why it was put up on Circus.

Clearly it was an under table deal with gaga , her label and amazon.

Did you just say
profit?! Amazon
discounted the album and HAD TO GIVE INTERSCOPE FULL PRICES. So they made
TERRIBLE LOSSES: 440k * (7.99 - 0.99) [
(loss per copy) = 3.080.000. The thing is, one of the goals was promotion to sell their Cloud Service. The Cloud Industry
now has competition with Apple's iCloud. The other is to snoop of market share from Apple's iTunes.
Why didn't they do ADELE? Simply because her album
was already out and
everyone knows that first week usually give biggest sales because of hype. That's why Gaga's Born This Way was chosen. Besides, when Adele was released it might not have been ready yet because of stability. We all know that the first day BTW was for 0.99, it crashed too, so it actually wasn't ready yet then too.
Video Phone was just a nice thing in return by Gaga, because Gaga asked Beyonce to be on Telephone. And she also planned it as a single already thus she also decided to join in a video for Beyonce in return.
It's not corrupt to release a remix for the week it could turn to #1, but it is lame and thank god people agree with me on this part. Especially when they try it to break records or start using remixes from 3rd single onwards because normally and album campaign would end after that or get a re-release.
