As far as Im concerned if Katy really wanted to seal the deal and break the Record FAIRLY she wouldnt have to tag on Kanye on the remix in order to get the extra Rhythmic spins.

She did it before the song started charting...

I don't think that any of these methods are "corrupt." Cheap, maybe... but not corrupt.
Music is a business, after all... and we're in a very tough economy right now; however, to do something to a song just to break a record is pretty tacky, imo.

Cuz it was released as a remix. ET didn't peak, and then she released the remix to push it to #1. That's what's shady.

Do you like it just because your fav is on it?
It's choppy, tacky, awkward, & weak.
I do not USE Rihanna in the poorest of quality. This belongs where it is now - not charting.

It is my opinion. You enlighten me as to why it is not. Last time I check all the singles released from that album had more airplay even a freaking ballad. And how the fact that it isn't the least radio friendly track on the album changes what I said? Ch...

Plus the random taking the song off iTunes, tweeting about it being abducted and all those cheap and desperate moves.

I like it cause it's good, sure it could use some polishing. But I see a diamond in the rough. Her added verses are pure , and her "boudoir" part is spicy. I liked it.
And from a few sources here and there, it's speculated that S&M reached Britney first and it was her demo that was used, same with TTWE Remix, Ke$ha's verses were from the demo. All it needed was alittle polishing.

Gurl, if someone likes the song, they like the song. You can't get on someone like that for their preference. That's just your opinion; you don't need to go around stating it like it's fact. I personally love S&M. It's one of my favorite tracks on Loud, and I like the remix even more.

i already loved the song and Britney made it 10X better. Britney was perfect, can you imagine any other pop star being on this remix?

The thing is that the Beyoncé fans started to say that Beyoncé would never do a Remix like that, they were the first ones to talk about her here.
However the original solo version of "Ego" was charting on Billboard before the Remix with Kanye was released. If fact Kanye isn't even credited for Ego because the version that was released as a single on Urban Radio was the original version.
There's is also a Remix for Justin Timberlake Until The End of Time which was released when the solo version of Justin's single was already an airplay hit.
Sure none of those songs were #1 but the Remixes helped them to reach new peaks on Billboard after the original solo versions were charting.

Does anyone think that the LFN remix could actually create a backlash? The would be ironic seeing that all that was needed to put it at no. 1 would've been a discount + a bit of promotion.

As much as I dont want her to get that #1....
There will be no backlash. The general public will eat it up and she will tie Michael's record. We will all deal.

This thread is a mess.
People whinging about people doing remixes, then when their fave gets called out they're allowed to do the remixe because they did it this way, or that way.
Pfft, a remix is a remix, just because video phone and ego flopped, doesn't mean we ignore the fact that they had remixes to help them.
Remixes were being used long before Rihanna or Britney decided to do it for S&M...
Why ya'll caring now? That extra #1 to their names got you all pressed? Let's bang on Lil Wayne and the trillions of remixes he does.

And why are we even discussing Beyoncé here? It was about the last months. Last time I checked RTW flopped in the US and everybody was mocking saying how she will label it as a promo single and move on and better yet release a remix. But did she? No she let her song continue its fate without last desperate move. Last time I check BTINH doesn't have a single either right?
She met Gaga at the VMA they had a conversation and she wanted to have fun with her and invited her on the least radio friendly song on the album and didn't even care enough to promote it or beg people on facebook or Twitter to buy it. Ye was supposed to be on the original version of Ego but the timing was not right, before she released that as an official single, she made sure he appears in it. Just talk about the people who are mentionned in the title and in the OP, that's why some Bey's fans can be irritating, there was absolutely no need to bring her up in this mess.
