I feel like a hypocrite because it's in my avi and she's in my sig but it's more out of loyalty than anything else.

Chasing Time is the latest single from rapper Azealia Banks. Finally emerging from years of career sabotage, does she have it in her to achieve the world dominance she once seemed destined for? The short answer is yes, even if through one of her worst singles to date.
The saving grace of Azealia through these past years has been her talent - no matter what she said on social media, her natural abilities have seen her through. Paired up with her knack for spotting a good collaborator, the rapper has produced several stunning singles - the rap-screamo of 2013's Yung Rapunxel; the pounding synths of 2014's Heavy Metal and Reflective; the undeniable flow of breakout hit 212.
This single possesses none of the flair of the aforementioned tracks. The production is reminiscent of Tinie Tempah's Trampoline, the vocals sound unfinished and the lyrics are fairly generic ponderings of, well, chasing time. The lyrics could be seen as a kiss off to a label who screwed her over - if so, this song makes one worry that it's too little too late that she has been cut free. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the song, but it's an embarrassment to her otherwise immaculate discography.
This song was made after her label asked her to produce a more radio-friendly song, closely mirroring to the genesis of ATM Jam, her awful Pharrell collaboration. Perhaps this should be taken as a sign that she should be left alone to focus on her art.
2.7/10

well the bridge is like the best part of the whole song x.x and a lot of her raps are not really fitting to the beats cause she use to do another beat with her flow (thats how she explains her songs)

As everyone knows, there are four singles being released today.
- One Direction
- Lorde
- Carrie Underwood
- Fergie
We can review a maximum of 5 things at the same time. Little Machines will be starting up tomorrow when Cheek To Cheek and Songs Of Innocence end. This Is All Yours would also begin tomorrow if we are doing that.
I guess my point is that we won't be able to review all four singles.
Which two would you like to review most? I know there have already been two requests for Carrie, but I'd like to see some responses to this question.

Oh and for this week I'd like Carrie and Lorde. Haven't heard Lorde yet, but I'm usually slayed by movie soundtracks.

 | As another tease from the much anticipated "Broke With Expensive Taste", rapper Azealia Banks releases the 3rd official single: "Chasing Time". The song itself is really average, and while I admire the creative melody and her vocals, this song is her weakest single by far. It just becomes boring halfway through and I'd rather go and listen to something else because this is a no no. However, I believe in her and I know that she will deliver, but this song was really meh for me considering all her material. Sorry Azealia, but if you want to succeed, try to release a better song from "Broke With Expensive Taste" because I know the gems are there. |

But those are albums. Singles are much easier to review and those are usually the ones that get people in the thread, especially with these popular ones

I guess I could end SoI and C2C tomorrow, replacing them with Lorde and Fergie.
Once Lorde and Fergie end, I could replace them with 1D and Carrie.
How does that sound?
*Oh, and Little Machines also starts tomorrow.

U2 - Songs Of Innocence AND Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - Cheek To Cheek - 24 HOUR NOTICE
You have approximately 24 hours to review Songs Of Innocence and Cheek To Cheek, if you have not already.

Songs Of Innocence starts with the magnificent The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone) which is my new favorite friendship anthem and it also serves as the lead single. Edge is extraordinary on the guitar providing an amazing and euphoric sound. After such a strong opener, U2 makes a 180 turn with the very chill Every Breaking Wave. The song is melancholic but it makes you smile at the same time. This is probably due to the influence Chris Martin (from the band Coldplay) has on Bono and the rest of the band. In fact you can hear a lot of Coldplay influences throughout this record. And Chris was rightfully credited in the album booklet.
Songs Of Innocence has all the U2 elements that I love but it still feels modern. Calling Ryan Tedder and Danger Mouse to help produce this album was a very good move. They made this album more reachable to the masses, which was crucial given how the album was offered to all the 500 millions Apple costumers for free.
I also loved how most of the lyrics conveyed a message a hope and made me think.
Song For Someone is a love song but unlike most love songs, this one feels true and not cheesy. Bono was singing from the heart and it was convincing.
Iris (Hold Me Close) is another album highlight and this one samples Coldplay's first ever single Shiver from their debut album Parachutes. This is such a huge compliment for Coldplay and annihilates all the media gossips that U2 and Coldplay are rivals. Iris has already become a fan favorite and it's infectious. This song will sound amazing live in a stadium.
Volcano is fire (no pun intended). It's one of my personal favorites and it probably has the catchiest chorus on the album.
Raised By Wolves, the confidence anthem, makes me feel like I can conquer everything. This song highlights what I said earlier about the inspirational lyrics. The song is simple in its complexity and every band member got a moment to shine.
Cedarwood Road is the only song that bores me but the chorus is catchy and I sing along to it pretty much every time. But it's the weakest song on the album in my humble opinion.
The synthesizer in Sleep Like A Baby Tonight is godly.
The album closes with The Troubles, a duet with Lykke Li. It's hands down my favorite song on the album. The strings, the drums, the guitar when Bono starts singing the verses, Lykke's amazing voice on the chorus, when Bono and Lykke sing together, the flawless lyrics, everything about this song gives me goosebumps. This song is a masterpiece.

AZEALIA BANKS - CHASING TIME
Do I really smell it? Can I really almost taste it? Is she really almost back to 2011/2 Azealia goodness? Do I really hear a cute melody in the chorus? Can I really understand what she's saying on the verses? Do the lyrics really have some sort of coherent idea? Is the instrumental really pleasing to my ears? Is there really no scary screaming or sound clips of tractors exploding? Could the other Azalea ever create something so enjoyable? Is this really happening? Will Broke With Expensive Taste ever really be released? Will this song really be on it? Will the rest of the album be anything like it? Will I buy it if that's the case? Probably.

TONY BENNETT FT. LADY GAGA - CHEEK TO CHEEK
I'm nervous as I line up backstage for my One Direction meet and greet; I don't know what to expect, as I've always heard that Anything Goes at these meetings. I reach the front of the line and he immediately locks eyes with me, those dazzling sapphire eyes burning a hole in my legs. Louis excuses himself from the group and whisks me away to an empty hallway, pushing me up against the wall and taking me to heeeaaaven with his soft lips pressed to mine, Cheek to Cheek and toe to toe, my heart racing against his and my breath shallow with excitement. Now he's leading me down the hall and out the door--to his tour bus I expect, until I realize he's pulling me across the street and into the woods, leaving me wondering what he has in store for me.
We reach a grassy clearing in the woods and he pushes me to the ground, and we're just two Nature Boys caught in the moment, unable to Give each other Anything But Love on the forest floor. I feel his warm breath on my ear as he's whispering, "I Won't Dance around the subject... I need you now." With no one but the Fireflies watching, I give Louis what he wants, the Lush sound of his voice invigorating me with new Life, and his assurances that I'm far more Sophisticated at this than any Lady he has ever "dated" coaxing me along.
After we finish up, he extends a hand to me. "Let's Face The Music," he says, pressing 'play' on his iPod and letting my favorite Joni Mitchell song (All I Want, now available on iTunes) ring out, "and Dance together."
"But Beautiful Louis," I whisper, "It Don't Mean A Thing until you promise me it's forever. Can you do that?"
Louis looks at me with a grin in his eyes and a slight blush spreading across his cheeks.
"Bang Bang, you bet I can."
