Chasing Time.
Azealia's comeback single from BWET (since HM&R was a promo/buzz one) bring us house beats that almost everyone loved from her, this song has some of the most mature lyrics from her career, and maybe one of the most relatable lyrics too. Her singing is good on the song and the flow on the rap verses is great and you can really understand about what is she rapping about. Hopefully this will give her a good boost in the music industry/media, and maybe it could be a hit somewhere (UK).
10/10
PD: Is this ok?

With Chasing Time, Azealia reminds everyone why we first fell in love with her. This is the first time we got a single with vocals on it, and they really shine. My only complaint is that her rapped verses are very straight forward, although there is a double entrandre going on between a lover and/or her troubled relationship with her ex-label. The beat is electro-pop-house gold, but maybe a little too much pop. However, she isn't selling out completely, with this one.

Chasing Time
I don't sense any progression of Azealia's "Chasing Time". With her recent releases, I've found myself rather disappointed. Personally, I found the beat irritating and was not a fan of the song. Her lyrics definitely don't stand out on this track either. All in all, a song I'll probably never listen to again.

Chasing Time
Azealia dumbed it down a bit for the GP but this is an overall smash. She is showcasing her amazing vocals and her gritty and memorable rhymes and lyricism. It has a really simple and straightforward chorus that the GP could easily sing a long too. It's time the world knows AB outside of twitter arguements. This song is that ONE.

I bet you £1,000 you weren't even a fan of AB in the first place and you're some bitter hater trying to sabotage her ass rn. Go home.

Azealia Banks - Chasing Time: 5/10
Azealia is back with a more accessible sound, but while certain things are noticeably better than in HM&R, she introduces new flaws to take the place of the previous weaknesses. Take for example her vocals in the chorus - singing used to be one of her strengths (just listen to her amazing cover of "Slow Hands") as she has a very warm and soulful tone, but here she sounds lackluster and her voice gets drowned out by a backing track that doesn't add anything besides noise.
Same goes for the production; the beat itself is quite likeable, however there are parts where there are too many noises mixed into it and it becomes overbearing for the listener. In addition to that, I am starting to get bored of these lounge-music inspired beats, which give off the same vibe in every one of her recent songs. She's been doing this since the 1991 EP and while some see it as some sort of trademark or signature sound, I think it is starting to get old. If she wants to break through, she needs to prove that she is not a one-trick pony and also that she has what it takes to finally deliver in a track, both vocally and musically, without exceptions.

I'm thinking about increasing the length limit for singles reviews. What does everyone here think?

I agree, that would hopefully encourage users to put a bit more content into their reviews. Maybe introduce a word count instead of minimum number of sentences?

Criticism of reviews is allowed, but personal attacks of members for their opinions is prohibited. For example, saying "your review doesn't make sense because _____" is OK, but "you have bad taste in music" is not.

I like this idea because it keeps out the "This song is great. I love the beat." reviews that aren't the most thoughtful.

Yeah. It's obvious those reviews are just sentences thrown together to support a (usually) either extremely high or extremely low score. That has nothing to do with the purpose of the thread.

Azealia Banks - Chasing Time REVIEW
Pretty AB is BACK with a more radio-friendly bop, and a bop it is! However, I kind of feel like the live version sounded better and seemed to have more bass, and the vocals sounded better live too. I do praise Azealia though on taking on a new concept and lyrical theme, which seems to be a break-up song and at the same time a cheeky nod to her former record label Flopiscope, as Azealia usually raps vulgar lyrics with sexual euphemisms like in Chips or Liquorice, or an explosive, potty-mouthed diss track like Succubi or YUNG RAPUNXEL. Although I prefer BWET songs YUNG RAPUNXEL, Heavy Metal and Reflective and Wallace so far, Chasing Time is definitely a potential hit and AB better come THROUGH with a good music video and promo.

Azealia Banks - Chasing Time
While her last single "Heavy Metal & Reflective" featured heavy and abrasive beats Azealia's next release finds her back with her 90s inspired dance beats. Azealia sings for than she raps on the song.In fact the bridge is the only part she really raps but this part does hit the spot. The only problem is that the song doesn't really go anywhere. They could've done something more with the last chorus and the end is a bitt sudden.
Overall "Chasing Time" is definitely not as good as some of her 1991 90s house songs such as the EP's title track but it's a great club banger that's good enough to keep you hooked for more Azealia.
And it's nice to see Azealia completely self aware My attitude is bitchy but you already knew that

Great beat and good lyrics.
Relatable enough and mainstream enough.
Great vocals and flow on the rap verses.
It can be a hit if it gets radio.
And i think its one of her best songs.

Chasing Time is the latest single from rapper Azealia Banks. Finally emerging from years of career sabotage, does she have it in her to achieve the world dominance she once seemed destined for? The short answer is yes, even if through one of her worst singles to date.
The saving grace of Azealia through these past years has been her talent - no matter what she said on social media, her natural abilities have seen her through. Paired up with her knack for spotting a good collaborator, the rapper has produced several stunning singles - the rap-screamo of 2013's Yung Rapunxel; the pounding synths of 2014's Heavy Metal and Reflective; the undeniable flow of breakout hit 212.
This single possesses none of the flair of the aforementioned tracks. The production is reminiscent of Tinie Tempah's Trampoline, the vocals sound unfinished and the lyrics are fairly generic ponderings of, well, chasing time. The lyrics could be seen as a kiss off to a label who screwed her over - if so, this song makes one worry that it's too little too late that she has been cut free. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the song, but it's an embarrassment to her otherwise immaculate discography.
This song was made after her label asked her to produce a more radio-friendly song, closely mirroring to the genesis of ATM Jam, her awful Pharrell collaboration. Perhaps this should be taken as a sign that she should be left alone to focus on her art.
