The rock classics U2, have finally released their 13th studio album called "Songs of Innocence". The album definitely has a lot of U2 in it, but it also becomes boring due to the big number of fillers present in it. However, the only thing that saves these songs is Bono's powerful voice. If someone else sang them they would totally be trash.
Now, except "California (There Is No End To Love)", the other songs seemed pretty bland to me. The intro was boring, but at least the outro, "The Troubles", saved it. "Cedarwood Road" is definitely the most boring track, but, as I said, the others are not far from it as well.
Overall, the album isn't bad, but it's not something revolutionary as well. It was nice to hear it, but except that, nothing. If they release the correct singles though, they might do good.
Blame is very reminiscent of all the other Calvin Harris songs. John Newman and his retro vocals couldn't make it feel special. I'm not sure if the term "soft EDM" has been coined yet but for me that's the best way describe this song. The beat isn't sharp at all, the looped melody isn't strong enough and there is no drop. Nonetheless, the song is decent and it's an improvement over Calvin's previous single.

How about Chasing Time by Azealia Banks? I think it will make this list more diverse. It doesn't hurt that it's the top thread on ATRL right now. It should bring the ratings
& he's just trying to do the bigger and interesting stuff. He can't do everything. No need to start anything.
But people requested it and he previously agreed on it and put it in the schedule. Now he removed it just because his personal fave releases next week, when no one else has requested her yet and without even warning us. I think that's a bit unfair.
alexanderao is not a mod, though. And it is stated in the rules that if a certain number of people request an album/song, we will do it. So he shouldn't just remove it from the list after it has been agreed.
It also doesn't make sense to say he wants to review something with a big name, Azealia drew tons of people to this thread in the past yet we are not reviewing her new song. He just put Lorde because he stans for her.

That's why I said OP, to include him. But I never looked at the rules. #oop.
There is just so much to review. Maybe we could split the thread in 2 by single reviews and album reviews with two different OPs/Mod's running them because to have to run album and single reviews along with meeting public demand is a task and a half.
Yeah. I don't know why Azealia isn't getting reviewed, either.
All I know is that my glorious review for LIGHTS is ready to go.
I would do it, it's just a matter of if people think there are too many things going on at once. I'll try to please everybody here but I don't think I can.
Chasing Time - Azealia Banks
For some reason, it feels like the beat doesn't match the song. And this bothers me for a reason I don't know. I'm also not really a fan of her singing. The lyrics are cliche and the beat is generic. I can't stand her voice either. Overall, this is really grating on the ears and it's a pretty irritating song.
