Not saying I agree or disagree with anyone but for those wondering who used dubstep, beat drops, break downs whatever you want to call it in their songs, Madonna did it in Gang Bang, Nicki in Automatic, Bieb's in ALAYLM, Katy B in Katy On A Mission, Alex Clare in Too Close, Flo Rida in Good Feeling and Leona in Glassheart and Come Alive. And IF you're educated, please feel free to correct me if any of those are wrong

K-POP isn't US mainstream and Alex Care, Leona Lewis and Katy B are British where dubstep was already present on our charts so who or what the influence was is another kettle of fish.
I don't know if I would class Good Feeling as dubstep, nor Who Gon Stop Me from Watch The Throne.
You Da One, Gang Bang, Automatic and ALAYLM, I'll give you. Still a bit hesitant to class this as a "trend" started by Britney though over a gradual break into mainstream, we're not exactly talking an influx of dubstep in pop here starting immediately post-HIAM. Only two of those were singles and only one was a hit.
Thanks for actually giving examples and arguing the case though. More than most have done.
