Agreed. Gaga's acting was a bit patchy throughout the episode though. Actually, her mannerisms and whatnot seemed great; it was her line delivery that bothered me at some points. I imagine she'll improve as the season progresses.
As for the rest of the episode:
- I like that they're setting up
multiple plots already; big difference from Coven and Freak Show, which each had like one main plot set up in the first episode and then fizzled out a few episodes later
- Not crazy about Sally yet. Her hair/makeup/clothing are just too silly, more like a costume than a character. Even Paulson's acting wasn't quite up to par.
- The number of hot guys in this episode, whew.
- Hate hate HATED the direction of this episode in some parts

Waaaaay too much of the fisheye lens, and the camera never stopped moving. For example, when the two blonde girls first walk out of the elevator, the camera pans over their heads and back into the elevator. This suggests something else is about to happen inside the elevator, but instead it just cuts to a different scene. And then practically every set piece had to get at least one pan with the fisheye lens. Sometimes less is more.
