Finally got to watch "The Babadook" and I must say it was really good and scary. It's such an unusual movie with a veeeery unusual ending but some parts had me covering my mouth in fear. That kid is ****ing annoying and adorable at the same time Everytime that thing went "BABA DOOK DOOK DOOK" I would get so scared

If you don't mind subtitles, Sleep Tight and Julia's Eyes are AMAZING Spanish movies. Never seen anything like either of them.

They're more thriller though :/ however the themes run into horror

"Los Ojos de Julia" is so suspenseful and tense. I almost **** my pants. It's amazing.

I finally watched The Babadook

That movie was INSAAANE

I also watched it high. Let me tell you, it was the biggest MIND **** EVER. Disturbing, plain weird, paranoid. SCARY. MIND BLOWING.

You know when you were younger, watching a scary movie and during some scary scene you would cover your eyes so you wouldn't see what was happening?

I FRICKING DID THAT. I seriously don't remember the last film that made me cover my eyes I'm usually NEVER scared that easily.

This movie truly made an impact on me. Just brilliant.

That scene were she's watching the TV and she sees herself, and all the other **** that was happening BIGGEST MIND ****.

And that lead actress' acting She truly gave one HELL of a performance.

My only issue with the film was the son. That actor kid irritated me, an his acting was too fake and not impressive at all, especially next to such a brilliant performance by the mother.

I strongly recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it.

I just watched The Orphanage and it reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth in some ways. Beautiful movie

Just watched babadook (it's 1.30am here )
The first half of it was good. The second half was kinda predictable the babadook apearing/possessing the mom but I wasn't expecting it to end like that.
The lead actress did an amazing job.

Oh and I skipped the scene where she strangles her puppy. I just can't watch that

What a mess. I thought it was terrible. There was absolutely nothing original, Kristin was a terrible, generic, USELESS character, and the whole accidentally killing a friend thing has been done dozens of times. When Wrong Turn is doing it, you know it's not cool anymore .

And I get that the whole point of the movie is that the killers did it "because you were home" but everything just felt so anticlimactic.

I still have faith in the sequel, especially with the proposed plot. I don't know what the hesitation is. It made considerable bank.

Threw it back last night and watch Audrey Hepburn's Wait Until Dark last night. Great movie.

"The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is, by far, the scariest movie I've ever seen (coming from a horror movie junkie) and, let me tell you why... It is so freaking real. It's so real that it makes me uncomfortable. It's so real that it makes me feel like that **** can happen to me and, sweet lord, I would **** my pants if any of the things that happened to that poor girl happen to me.

I know many people don't find it scary at all but I also find it scary because of what you said... The whole demon thing freaks me out, which is weird cuz I don't really believe in any religious stuff but it goes to show how scary that movie is.

Ok here's the thing about the Strangers, I love this flick for several reasons; at the time of its release, it was innovative and original compared to all the other shitfests being released, and it was the first movie to literally strike fear into my friends and I, the raw feeling that came with the actual possibility of something like this occurring in reality was enticing all on its own. However, since it's time so many other movies have emulated its basis and plot line i.e. The Purge, You're Next, etc. that it ultimately drained the feeling that initially came with the movie. So people who didn't watch it when it was released won't understand why so many of us love it to this day.

Also TWIB2 presented the exact same amount of thrill as its predecessor. Which was disappointing. I was either expecting it to be more or less appealing than the first but ultimately it was like rewatching the first movie with different casting.

The scariest for me is The Exorcist because I watched it at 1am in the morning and could not sleep afterwards.

The Shining is the runner up, the psychological build up is something I have never experienced in any horror film before. I was mentally exhausted to the point where I had to paused it several times.

The babadook had the same effect as The Shining but the latter was more intense.

The Exorcist has never really frightened me.. The last movie I remember truly scaring me, as you said, was The Babadook.. And Insidious (because of the soundtrack mainly).

I grew up incredibly frightened by (a movie from my favorite horror franchise of all time) A Nightmare On Elm Street. The scene where he creeps down the alley and extends his arms.. Seriously perfection. Also Alien, which is my second favorite.
