I think the whole Babadook character is a metaphor for her anger and sorrow mixed with her lifestyle and lack of sleep . In the end the babadook goes back in cellar , and she is feeding him . It's like how people say " feeding your fears" . she didn't get rid of them but tamed them. But the most intriguing part is when her son asks her to have a look it babadook and she says "when you grow up" like it is an entity, a family secret that is going to be locked up there forever.

Did nobody notice that Unfriended isn't an MTV film but Universal? Has nobody also noticed that all reviews for the film so far have been predominantly positive due to the performances and creativity of the story? The only reason MTV is probably heavily involved in the marketing is because Shelley Hennig is one of the main stars and she's also one of the main characters on Teen Wolf.

But why was there a book? Where did it come from? If this was psychological, then the kid shouldn't have known..

Cry Wolf was awesome although there were plenty giveaways that they were just ****ing with Owen. The VERY obvious one was that they didn't show the actual "murdering" happen and only show the "planned" flashbacks.

I kinda knew that Jon Bon Jovi somewhat plays a big role in this although I thought through out that we was the killer. I kinda strucked two conclusions when Owen spilled that the professor was sleeping with the girl who got killed. I thought that it was either him OR Dodger that killed her since Dodger kinda was sort of a manipulator and she strucked me as a needy bitch and maybe a little bit obsessive. Then she gave it away at the end and I was so proud of myself.

Awesome movie. The Rotten Tomatoes score didn't give it justice.

Tonight I watched John Wick and The Stepford Wives

John Wick isn't horror but HOLY **** everyone in this thread needs to see it it was beyond ****ing epic, it was total eye/mind candy. So much action and so much intensity, I was enamored while watching. Definitely up there with some of my favorite movies ever.

The Stepford Wives is a movie I've been wanting to watch for a long time and I wasn't disappointed. I never watch movies as old as that (1975) but it wasn't hard to get into and I can see where movies like The Conjuring borrowed from that old style. The main character was amazing (reminded me a lot of Lana Del Rey) and idk it was a really cool story (women in suburbia being turned into mindless robots). I'd recommend it just for the culture change but it was a pretty perfect movie if that storyline interests you.

I just watched "As Above, So Below".

It's worth of watching, but someone said here that it's best horror of the year. That's definitely not true.

If you don't mind subtitles, Sleep Tight and Julia's Eyes are AMAZING Spanish movies. Never seen anything like either of them.

They're more thriller though :/ however the themes run into horror

Watched it yesterday. It was ok, had some cute moments here and there. I cringed several times during the films because of bad writing.

The boss not attacking the villain when he found out that she wasn't the mother.

How stupid all the police agents were.

The guy turning into a Zombi for no reason.

The tortured girl letting the villain alive instead of just finishing her for good, too many times.

Yes, I believe the Babadook is a representation of the mom's pent up anger, grief and resentment in her subconscious. It's just a way to show you what really happens in your mind when you bottle up emotions instead of dealing with them and letting them go. And even still in the end, the babadook existed because the mom is still holding on to those emotions, she just has better control of them now. I think we could all learn a lesson from that movie irl.

"The Strangers" is one of the scariest movies that I saw recently. Freaking creepy.

Sequel will be released in 2015, I think.
