Tick "Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators" so all contacts (who don't necessarily have to accept a friend request) and moderators can PM you

There's also the option of putting on guided access mode. What this does is it locks you into one app (in this case, Safari or whatever browser you use) and will prevent that app from closing without your consent. This will also work in other apps that sometimes try to prompt you into opening other apps. (YouTube, games etc.) You can enable this by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access.

If you don't use Safari for anything outside of ATRL then turning off JavaScript would work too, and probably be less annoying. You can disable it by going to Settings > Safari and turning JavaScript off. Of course, if you use other sites that you know use JS than this is the worst and least practical option.

For the time being, enable Adblock on your PC and device, anti-virus/malware on your PC and don't download anything an ad tries to get you to do.

And you can always ask posh as well. He and I are both keeping an eye in this thread to help answer questions (since pages here are moving so fast) when there is a new development.
