do you not know how to read or you don't know what that word means?
and can you show me receipts of Wannabe being more "impactful", SHOW ME. I'll wait.
i've seen her perform that song on televised specials from 2003-2004.
that is barely a decade, let alone two. try again with that excuse.
and wannabe is still widely referenced and known to the gp. Used in Commercials, TV, movies, etc. i hardly see BOMT anywhere anymore and it came out later. i'm not saying it's not iconic, but yall need to stop with this whole "BOMT is more iconic than anything ever ****. hell, even last year 5 girls performed it at the talent show at my school, despite it being older than they are
"Wannabe", without a doubt. I still hear it on the radio from time-to-time and people still sing it all the time. It's more remembered, more iconic, and has way more impact. "...Baby One More Time" was a big hit at the time, but it is the most overrated song EVER on ATRL. It's not as remembered as "Wannabe".

the last time it was performed was in 2003 so
2000-2010-1 decade
2010-2020-the 2nd decade
I don't think it was a stretch for me to say nearly 2 decades.
And you still have not provided any receipts What are these commercials/movies it was featured in? no one cares if some girls covered the song at your damn talent show when BOMT has been covered by Ed Sheeran, Tori Amos, Selena Gomez, etc. These whack ass arguments. Valid receipts for example would be:
135 million views
96 million views
Despite the spice girls recently performing at the world cup, a huge global event. YT views is one of the best measures for memorability for songs released before 2005.
"Wannabe". There's a reason "Spice" (the album) was global, unlike "BOMT" (album) which was mostly local to North America
I noticed this too. Half the sales of BOMT come from the US, Britney's home country. Yet the Spice Girls' album sold more outside of their home country.

BOMT sold more tho as an album
The US sales for "Spice" in that table only includes Billboard/Soundscan tho, while that BOMT figure includes both Soundscan and freebie club 'sales'. BOMT's official Billboard/Soundscan sales are 10.6 million
This does show how local BOMT was compared to Spice. Spice sold 9.5M outside US/Canada, BOMT only 4.5M
the last time it was performed was in 2003 so
2000-2010-1 decade
2010-2020-the 2nd decade

Don't yall love to cling to recurrent plays? BOMT gets more recurrent airplay in the UK despite it being the Spice Girls' home country
IMPACT
I can literally keep going
Girl, you can keep going about the impact of BOMT. i'm still stuck on you thinking that 12 years is close to two decades, YET attempting to come for MY intelligence. lmao
and yes, those 5 irrelevant girls at my school performing at my school does measure it's impact.
you don't know music from before your time unless you were exposed to it or if it has impact.
also, studies show that wannabe is the most recognizable pop song of all time. that alone beats any receipts that you've conjured up. last time i heard about bomt was when it was luring pirates away or some ****. and BOMT was a bigger hit in the UK, it's obviously going to get more recurrent airplay

Wannabe clearly made more impact globally
Mediatraffic has spice at 22m
And BOMT at 25m
But whatever
So if we go via outside us + uk Britney's sold more
& of course a few familiar people are in here doing the most to discredit Britney/BOMT. Both songs were huge in the 90's, both are iconic and both are very remembered today.
