GP's sweet-tooth the point being , Bruno just doesnt have all the makings of being pop royalty. He is rarely discussed anywhere in pop culture.
|
Radio Candy lol no, he just writes and produces good music that everybody can relate to whether it's funk, disco or a simple ballad with nothing but piano playing. And he has everything it takes to become one of the biggest pop stars of the new generation.

usher has no impact
jt definitely has a legacy but hes been around for how long? bruno will have his own in time
the other 2 are just universally hated, this notion of impact is stupid. I'll take tangeable proof over opinions any day

But isn't the use of honorific nicknames, and specifically this one, a very American thing? Not to mention that MTV crowned Michael Jackson the King of Pop and it is an American company. It's not a stretch to use a mostly American artist matched with a very American title.

This, tbh. It's too early to pass this title to Bruno or even JT. MJ earned it over the years. Give these artists their time.

Usher has no impact
Confessions influenced RnB music as a whole whether you like it or not

What impact Bieber and Brown have?
Bruno has been known as solo artist for 3 years. So, yes, he is the newest among them.
But he's more respected and seen as talented by GP than Bieber and Brown.
He's not attention ***** and just wanna be known for his music.
Obviously that makes him doesn't have media presence as much as them

His music is his impact. You are seriously saying that his songs didn't influence any of the young talents who are trying to make it in the music business and they see bruno as one of their biggest inspirations. I don't need critics to tell me whose music has impact and who hasn't. And having impact in pop culture is determined by ordinary people and not magazines or Forbes' list of the richest celebrities.

I think everyone acknowledges MJ and Madonna as King and Queen of pop, not only in the US.
I don't really get your point with this comment. Bruno is pretty much more respected and sold more than CB, JB and Usher, in the last years, in the States.

Usher is outdated and Justin Beiber and Chris Brown are in downward spirals of their career where people generally have a bad connotation with their name. The only one you can really argue here is Justin Timberlake.

This, and I say this about even people saying who the modern day pop queen is, it's too soon to tell. Everyone has either been around for like four years or have just started really defining their legacy.

no, he is a popular an very successful artist but he doesnt have that special kind of attraction towards him, he's a solid seller but i dont think him as a person has it in him to be given that title

Those don't indicate cultural impact. I'm talking about receipts that prove that the general public (beyond just his fans) cares about him, wants to know more about him, discusses his latest music videos, performances album release, etc.

They will say Justin Timberlake who has just released his third album which the critics claim has revived both of R&B and pop's music.
Lets be real, 20/20 is just there, even the hits that will be getting Grammys this year aren't even big hits in the literal meaning and didn't add anything to the music scene.

Go to youtube and see how huge his videos are or the little dislikes they get, and read the comments that people post everyday and you will know how influential his music in some people's lives, but of course you will say this's not important.
Or the comments down here:

When buying this album I realized I wasn't Bruno Mars's target audience as a grown, professional man. Even still, I found this album to be strong all the way through. He seemed to put much care and thought into each track.

I'm in my 50's and generally don't like any music made after the 70'a and 80's. This album is an exception. It is great music. Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox is in league with Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, Steely Dan's Don't Look Back, and Boston's eponymous work.

What a talent and at such a young age! I love that every song is different, from beautiful ballads to mellow reggae with some hip hop thrown in, to energetic pop and writhing, sexy R&B. There are very few people who can do this, who are this versatile. So sorry I missed his show here in SD. That won't happen again. I would recommend this CD to anyone tired of the sameness of most artists and out for a little adventure, and some downright pure, hedonistic enjoyment.
|
And yes most of the reviews are positive. Many are casual buyers who perhaps heard one of his songs on the radio and wanted to give it a shot.
