Most of listeners today pretend to like something undeserved to be liked.
If we were now in the 80's, JT wouldn't even be known to one state in the US, while Bruno would dominate the globe.
People back then appreciated talent, so can you guys give me a talent JT has?
Dancing? that's a talent, but has nothing to do with music.
Playing instruments? A couple of guitar riffs, a couple of notes on piano, hell, I do that myself.
Singing? His voice live makes a human suffer from immediate cancer, his whiney falsetto makes Marvin Gaye dig his own ditch.
What made JT a superstar is: 1. Being a handsome & good-looking white boy 2. Having a relationship with another famous superstar "Britney Spears" 3. Breaking-up with her & writing songs about it (More like Taylor Swift). 4. Pretending to bring sexy back while sexy never left (Hy, Prince!)
Bruno's artistry is unmatched, his skills of shredding guitar solos (Can JT play Jimi Hendrix?), and vocally he's amazing (I guess we don't have to even talk about it), his diversity in music is undeniable (from reggae to rock, to soul, to R&B, to jazz... and he's producing & writing his own pieces of music), he choreographes his own videos, he stays true to music.. What y'all want more? A relationship with Lady Gaga? A famous TV scandal? The guys is an artist, and no need for him to be a prince of something.

i like JT voice, love his falsetto.
a talent? well, he is a GREAT performer with a good voice.
Bruno performances are quite generic, are often the same. He is good, vocally better than JT but i can't see Bruno > JT if you count everything.

Bruno's performances are diverse, he doesn't go on one road, you go to his Moonshine Jungle tour, you see different styles.
Babyface called him the best artist in the industry right now and praised his stage presence. Well, Myself I don't think Bruno's music the best, but on stage nobody could be better than him.

No. Bruno is boring and dorky. He has no star appeal at all. Plus his music ain't that great.

Spill the tea, sis. I adore you so much for this.
Bruno is a musician, a full time artist. He rose to fame because of his music and talent.
This royalty title is overrated. JT, Bieber, Brown, or anyone can take it and I won't give a damn.

Well out of the pop males he's the only one with global hits and good sales, however his brand is lacking some kind of impact require to be Prince of Pop, he's the best contender tho (JT is up there too)

Bruno making others pressed with his undeniable power -- songwriting, production, singing, dancing talent + sense of humor.

Bruno's on a right track, he's coming for that major cultural impact. I'd rather see him pacing towards that, than seeing him being huge with his first album and then constantly decline until he can barely make his first single from a new album reach gold status.

Why can't you let this man just be? I mean it...
Bruno cringes when someone calls him a hitmaker during an interview. He hates labels and everytime he can emphasize that he's the 1st Bruno Mars. He just doesn't have this desperation/ need (call it whatever you want) in him to be widely talked about. He even joked about RS calling him POP's Golden Child. He just doesn't care and I admire this about him. He's also against creating a huge hype around a release because he feels it will only ruin things in the long run - he focuses on longevity, that's why he develops his career step by step. I think if he stays focused It'll pay off in the future.
I also don't think we heard Bruno's album yet. I feel like he's still in the 'tribute mood'
D-W&H -shows his origins, the first music gentre he grew up listening to the doo-wop.
UJ - focuses on paying honors to people he grew up admiring and idolizing: Sting, MJ, Prince, Bob Marley... all these influences are evident on this album.
But his sound, the direction he gonna take is still a mystery.
But he'll let the music speak as he likes to say, when he's ready to.
If you don't get it, it's OK...
.... It's better if you don't understand.

I think he is. As a Rihanna stan, I understand #thestruggle. When an artist gets a ton of hits (Bruno is quite a hitmaker), people try to find ways to discredit them and not label them king/queen. They are insecure about their own faves not reaching #1s, so they go for other artists who are, like Bruno and Rih continue to do.
tl;dr. Bruno is the new king of pop, and Rihanna is the new queen of pop. They reign together. That's why they need to do a collab together to demloish the airwaves/iTunes.

This pretty much sum up everything
I remember seeing how uncomfortable Bruno looked like when they compared him to legends or called him with these various titles.
Like Bruno said, he's having crisis identity now. Still searching, exploring and learning new things about music to find himself.
Bruno doesn't have desire to be an icon. He just wanna be a musician, making music and perform it.
