CG is painfully forgotten especially since it was a huge hit. A Blurred Lines tea. It will never have the staying power of Roar or Firework. LFN is even more forgotten though.
TD isn't as forgotten. It's still in the consciousness of pop fans and especially critics (see: 2321313 comparisons of RAWM to TD last year). And like others have said, people who don't like Katy tend to love TD. I've had people say the same thing to me. It gets a lot of love on adult stations who like to play recurrent hits. The song and video continue to inspire.
Back to the "Love Me" praise. Such a sweet, deep, romantic & empowering song. I listened to it so much post-break up, but you guys I have just started dating a new guy and he is SO PERFECT and we've only had two days but last night he came over, and even though he starts work at 4AM! He stayed with me until like 2am and I woke up holding him and it was so perfect. Ugh.

I don't understand why Katy's own stans try to downplay her. What's wrong with you guys? If you don't like her lyrics what are you even doing here?
She has some messy lyrics like the plastic bag and the unzip and strip ones, she uses a lot of clichés... but her lyrics speak directly to the listener and anyone can relate. Of course, several songs were written to be hits, but her more personal songs prove that she's a good lyricist with actual talent so y'all can stop saying "omg I wish she would hire songwriters" "her lyrics suck she ain't 13 no more" if you want your fave to write barely understandable lyrics with a dark meaning that only she can understand go stan for Edyta Górniak
