I love it, but here's why I think some people don't:

Because Gaga was pops 'It' girl during The Fame/The Fame Monster. She was literally everywhere. However, it's kind of like with the Britney situation, when you're so big, people just want to see you fall. And when Gaga started saying thinks like "album of the decade", it made it really easy for the haters to hate. When something is hyped up that big, and it doesn't actually turn out to be as successful as it was made out to be, people tend to think it failed, even though BTW was actually a really successful album.

I was such a huge fan. Followed the bitch's every move, stalked the-fame.org... But quite frankly, this era sucks. The music was terrible and cheesy, and the tour is a mess. I'm disappointed terribly by this album. It seems like Gaga's perfectness is far gone.

It didnt live up to the hype that she and TFM had created. Also it had a slightly different sound to her previous albums. Also, the album didnt have any major hits like poker face and bad romance

Nah. I don't think expectations were too high. What I think, is that she went from one sound, being the Fame/Fame Monster, to something on the opposite end of the spectrum. I think if she wouldn't have gone so hardcore into a eerie sounding record while still being classified as a super pop girl, everyone would love it. She defined expectations for the album, but everyone else defined expectations to what it would sound like.

and also simply becauase the album is not that great specially in comparation to songs like 'Bad Romance' and The Fame Monster.

I love Born This Way now but I didn't like it more than 8 months since its release. It was mostly because I expected something different, something more TheFamish and more TheFameMonsterish. This was something new and unexpected and darker. Once I tried to listen to it again and I've fallen in love with it...

And of course, some people hate it just because it's Lady Gaga

There is no real reason to hate the album. In fact, there's no real reason to hate any album. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

I can't see why people "hate" it. Just because TFM was a better album -not for me though- doesn't mean it's a reason to hate BTW. It had different songs with different themes, and it was one of her best works ever. Not to mention how amazing Gaga's fashion was during the BTW era.

It sounds a little too forced, like the album doesn't really feel natural and she made it to sound as "out there" and weird as possible. I like some of the tracks but overall its just a weird record.
