I am curious as to whether y'all find this scenario offensive.
Me and this gurl were getting interviews for yearbook yesterday, so we're walking and she sees two black people and says "I'll get these two niggs up here." What are y'alls thoughts? She's white btw.

White people as " Why can't we use the N word?" Unless the word is being used in the context of history, there is no reason for white people to use the word.
They just better not say the word in a crowd full of Black people otherwise you're up the creek without a paddle.

white people still have johnny law, wall street, and the judicial and legislative branches on their side. Even if Obama gets re-elected, they'll have the executive branch back in another four years.

I don't understand why some people want to use it so badly anyway. Hell, I'm black and I've never used it (aside from when I mock racists). I mean, a pot of gold doesn't fall from the sky or anything.

People are trying to use the fact that there are blacks using the word to justify their race using it. If you're going to argue whether blacks should use it or not, then argue that. But that still doesn't mean you should use it.

This isn't about guns...that's a nonsensical comparison.
NO race should be using it like that is what I'm saying. But since that's not the case, it's either/or for me. Either all races get equal access to a word that supposedly has become "benign" in its meaning or all races refrain from using it outside of an educational context.

Nope. Because that's what they choose to identify as. As long as blacks continue to regard to themselves as such, they should expect other races to continue as well.
Look at it like this, it's not she's inherently racist right? Well when color is taken out of the equation, it's just one person using a word another person uses.

So, black people shouldn't use the word because their oppressors have a problem being called racist when they use it?

Thank you.
And whites can use it all they want, but prepare for whatever comes after that. That's just the way it is.
It's the same for any group of people.

That's really not for you to decide. As was stated eons ago, it will always be offensive when non-blacks say the N-word, heterosexuals say the F-word, men say bitch/****/c-word, etc. These are just accepted social conventions. Again, I do not see why anyone would want to say the word so badly to the point that it merits debate. I'm straight and I don't feel "restricted" or oppressed by not being able to say the F-word without uproar. I honestly don't get it.

I don't know either. LordT knows I don't use it. I don't like being called it by anyone either.

It's only benign when an individual with a discernibly black complexion uses it.

I know it's not about guns. My point is, just because someone else does it doesn't mean you should do it if you know it's wrong. The gun example may be extreme or nonsensical as you say (and reading back on it, I'd agree), but I'm just saying that two wrongs don't make a right.
A black man using the word doesn't make a white man using the word any righter.

Someone people don't even know the negative meanings behind the word or thats its racist at all, like when i was 11 me and my friend were talking to this malaysian guy ( were all best friends now but we didnt know him that well at the time) were talking and my friend must have made a joke and he replied " your a funny ni**a". By the end of the day, me my friend and half of all the black people in the school wanted to kill him
He said he didnt know what it meant because he had only been in england for a few years so everyone forgave him

Lets just put it clear and simple. It may be ****ed up but this is how it is.
Black people can say "Ni***a" all they want but as soon as a White person says it. THEY WILL GET POPPED, PUNCHED, BOPPED OR DROPPED. lmao It's sad but that's just the truth of the situation.
Me personally I don't really care but it would make me uncomfortable hearing another race say it. Now Guyanese people say it in my school and I'm like "wtf" lmao

Right, these are the same people who complain that there's a Black Entertainment Channel, calling it ''reverse racism'' while failing to get that EVERY other channel is White Entertainment

First of all, someone already said this, but blacks are not a monolith, nor do I refer to myself as an n-word. Even if a great many blacks do use the word, that doesn't mean that they deserve to be racially denigrated by non-whites.
Second of all, you can't take color out of the equation. We do not live in a color blind, race blind world. That is some real white liberal bingo nonsense used to try to silence people of color or blacks, in this case, when whites think they're getting too huffy about race.
