Do we really have to open this can of worms every few months? The bottom line is, Blacks can say it, and Whites can't. Point blank.
White people are free to say it, just like a man is free to stick his penis in a blender. They just have to be ready to accept the potential consequences, is all.
I mean to be fair, they physically CAN say it, but they (I guess I should be saying us? ) need to accept that people have every right to be offended by it.
Like I said, I'll say it when I'm rapping along to a song or quoting/naming a song, but if someone ever told me to stop or that they were offended I'd shut my damn mouth like a decent, respectful person should.
Of course anyone CAN say it. Unless you tape somebody's mouth shut, you can't stop them from doing it. I don't think any Black person is foolish enough to believe there aren't white people out there throwing the word around behind close doors like it's Christmas. And I could care less, but no, I don't believe Whites should be condoned for openly using the word "n*gger".
And yeah, I've had white friends say the ***** in a rap song, and it doesn't really bother me.
I just think that if you don't want such a word to offend or define who you are and what your culture is, you wouldn't use words derived from such slang. But that's just me.

The popular belief is that it used to be inherently offensive, but has now become a move among African-Americans to try to “recapture the word, cleanse it, and rob it of its sting”. This debate reminds me of an incident about a week ago when i was at the Parking Lot at a store, getting into my car, when this random car pulls up from nowhere & this white kid (he was really young, probably a 5th grader or something) rolls up his backseat window & shouts, "Look at that light-skinned niggger stealing cars, Mom!" (referring to me of course) and then the mum drives off.
Never in my life have i been so offended.
Apparently any black guy wearing a hoodie = a thug w/a criminal record.
The same thing happened to my mom and I at night in a grocery's store parking lot. Some jackass who was on the opposite side of the parking in their car yelled n***er (most likely at me) us. My mom was cursing out whoever it was while moving closer to the car. The idiot pulled off before she got there, tho.
Last year my cousin and I were walking to the store and some asshole was calling us n***ers from a house. We couldn't tell which house it was but knew which direction. Some faces were almost rearranged that day.

A few months ago, I was up in New Jersey with my mother on a business trip and we were shopping in Atlantic City. I don't know what the situation was, but there was this angry ass white man (he was probably pissed off at one of the trolley drivers or something) and he yelled out "Go back to your country, we're tired of you living off my tax dollars and taking over our country N*GGER!"
It was so awkward and hilarious at the same time. Racism from white people just doesn't phase me anymore.
Yes, there is mess in that post. Just because black people use it doesn't mean that white people should use it, just like if I see someone put a gun to his head doesn't mean I should. It's still wrong when you say it.
People are trying to use the fact that there are blacks using the word to justify their race using it. If you're going to argue whether blacks should use it or not, then argue that. But that still doesn't mean you should use it.

This reminds me of something I read a few days ago.
A 17-year old was killed a week ago in Florida when he was walking back to his dad's house from a 7-11. A 26-year old white man saw him walking down the street and called Police. The call (Which the mother of the kid is suing to have released) reportedly has George Zimmerman (just remembered his name) saying "They always get away". Police told him to wait for them to come and investigate, instead, Zimmerman got out his car and confronted the kid. The boy turned around and said "Do you have a problem?", What happened in those few seconds afterwards is unknown but Zimmerman shot and killed the boy who was unarmed. He was 70 yards away from his home. Zimmerman isn't even charged with anything. This happened in a predominately white neighborhood in Florida.
This argument is just forever circular and never-ending. The reality is, alot of white people will use it when they're not around Black people, and if they do, that's whatever. White people as "Why can't we use the N word?" Unless the word is being used in the context of history, there is no reason for white people to use the word.
They just better not say the word in a crowd full of Black people otherwise you're up the creek without a paddle.

This is not something that white people should decide. They aren't affected by the word, nor have they ever been oppressed by the word. They get no say in the matter. The N word now belongs in the hands of black people to do with it what they will, and everyone else needs to step away and let them.
