Well Mariah's first single from her last album hit top 10 and it was SOLO with no popular rappers/features to make it a hit. I value that more than Madonna putting Nicki/M.IA to get a top 10 in the U.S. It means she doesn't need other people to get a hit.
Mariah Carey on a song alone has more chance of being a hit in the U.S than a Madonna song by herself. It's true. The only hit song in the U.S SOLO that Madonna had was "Hung Up."
I respect Mariah for doing it alone. If the song flops o well but at least she flopped BY HERSELF if it makes sense lol. "If I flop I might as well flop alone" lol

I'm hoping Mariah does it, but she needs to come correct. Her last era was bland musically, which resulted in a disappointing era commercially.
I was talking about from the past 5-7 years. Madonna's song "Hung Up" peaked in the top 10 and it had no features. All the other solo singles "Miles Away" "Give it to me" did not do well in the U.S. Worldwide they probably did better but not in the U.S.

Hung Up was way bigger than anything on Emancipation, 4 Mins was bigger than anything on E=MC^2, and their albums this year will be no different. Ya'll will learn some smarts 1 day.
