E=MC2 had a much larger opening week in the US than Hard Candy.

Mariah didn't have a tour to promote E=MC2.

Mariah appeals to a younger audience.

TMB reached #1 and did reach a higher audience but it still sold WAY less than 4 Minutes. Sales are always the best indicator of success, and when the gap is that huge, the answer is obvious.

EMC2 sold more than HC in the USA, but what about worldwide? That is what matters and the former bombed internationally selling less than 2 million in total whereas HC is well over 3.5 million.

And Mariah can't tour.

There's really no argument here. Mariah is nothing compared to Madonna and hasn't been a threat to anyone since 2005, and that too was clearly a fluke.

Mariah isn't local when over 60% of her album sales are OUTSIDE the US

I honestly can't see her reaching the top 10 without insane promo, but in the long run I think it will be more successful than GMAYL.
