Actually I just heard Toxic and IAS4U on the radio last month.

And don't forget Britney's radio ban cockblocked singles from IAS4U -> Toxic's chart success on radio.

And what truly makes a hit are the iconic performances and videos which accompanied every hit song from BOMT through Circus. (I don't use anything passed that).

I've heard toxic on the radio and seen the video on tv where i live several times and still do. It was the 2nd most played song in the UK of the last decade.

You know sales and charting don't measure impact, we've been over this various times. I mean Single Ladies sold due to the popularity but it's charting is so screwed due to the way it was released that it doesn't read as a hit outside of certain countries, but you know it was in every country.

Telephone had everything going for it, and It would've smashed with or without Beyoncé, she didn't have anything to do with its success. Great song, catchy and had the biggest female artist at that time as the lead singer. Video Phone though...

"Beautiful" is only being played more these days because the song is featured on "Smash" - the TV show.

Its a tie between Christina and Beyonce for me....... solo wise, Christina would win but career wise, Beyonce would win. Overall, they have both contributed greatly to my generation of music.

Britney's hits are all flavor of the month fluff that get forgotten 2 weeks later. She has had more impact on CULTURE than music IMO.
