Now now, no need to go there. We actually have a lot more Hispanics that aren't of Mexican descent. The abundance of Puerto Ricans (FL/NYC), Cubans (FL/NYC), Dominican Republicans (FL/NYC), etc. are fairly high. Though, yes, we do have more Mexican-Americans probably than any other latin country in the US.

I vividly remember reading an article about why Black film makers are so "one-track minded" when it comes to Black films. "White" films have creativity, are imaginative, they're "different", if you will. Black films tend to follow the themes that Blacks complain about when being type casted in "White" films.

Reality of the situation, Blacks probably wouldn't be supportive of a Harry Potter type film. Blacks seem to only like films where it's about "life in the hood" - Friday, Boyz In The Hood, Crooklyn, etc. This is why I don't understand why Tyler Perry gets so much flack from other Black film makers, who portrays his characters as "uppity" Blacks.

2-they tend to alienate the audiences (ESPECIALLY in the international market). I remember watching Hitch and reading about how producers refused to cast a black woman as the female lead because they were worried a black couple wouldn't bring in much dough. No wonder Obsessed didn't have a wide international release .

Well it's not only a lack of black people but a lack of any non-white people. Then again western society mostly consists of white people so it's not suprising. They want it to relatable, but I think they underestimate people. I don't think movies/series would suffer from a few more characters of other races.

Well blacks (I'm black) have it better than Asian-Americans (Is that the correct term?), Muslim-Americans, etc. I think the media should be more diverse and include EVERYONE. Especially magazine ads; it's not like only white people spend money.
