I never acted as such. Being an icon is a great accomplishment to have, and few do it, but saying she is a legend is stretching it. Yeah, but Madonna and real legends sold several times what she sold. No it isn't, not when there are a good amount above her. I never said she wasn't a significance in my life, please, don't assume, it makes you look stupid. Don't discuss the conversation if you can't talk without being deluded because she is your fave.

I have many favorites, but what has she not done that the other legends haven't other than sell less albums?
She's sold 100's of millions of records.
She's influenced modern day major pop acts.
She's received critically acclaimed awards.
Has countless number 1 hits spanning 3 decades around the globe.
She further broke molds for minority female pop acts.
She's had very successful world tours
She was at one point given the highest paid music contract of all time.
She's received fame from her music peers as well as prior peers.
She's proven her longevity, power, and stance in pop.
Icon, Legend, Vanguard whatever. To me it's all the same. Janet is a staple in pop, will be remembered for her achievements.
The ONLY thing that sold her image less than Madonna and Michael or the Beatles was that she wasn't infamous. Madonna's claim to fame was bigger than just her music, but because of her wild controversies. And Michael's personal life was just a big a seller as his musical one due to his eccentric bizarre lifestyle, and weird looks. Janet always remained private and never put herself out as much in the media circuit. She was never seen as scandalous or infamous, she was just recognized for her dance and music. Janet was never very controversial other than maybe the Superbowl or her secret marriage.
