Except the horror's creators admit to it, lol. Sean S. Cunningham said over and over again how he wanted to do a film like
Halloween. Two years later,
Friday the 13th was born. John Carpenter even admitted to using
Black Christmas as a backdrop for
Halloween.
Even though this film is completely different from other horror films, Wes Craven thanked John Carpenter for making
Halloween because it knocked the door down for
A Nightmare on Elm Street.
