lol she was. And Beyonce didn't "destroy" Ashanti's career. Ashanti was putting out quality R&B music accompanied with great videos, her debut album was highly praised and well accepted with music lovers. Ashanti's career started to die down when her label Murder Inc started falling apart. Ashanti had a great team behind her with Irv Gotti, once that fell apart so did her career and popularity. Plus she wasn't that great of a performer. Beyonce, unlike Ashanti, already had an established fan base because she was already well known from being in Destiny's Child.

People always call britney spears a performer, but I feel like beuonce is aswell. Beyonce dances and shows everykne she can sing, but what else? Its just a perrormance. There is no credibility behind it. she is not the writer or the composer. she just is the presenter of the song.
To me its like if a kid writes a paper for another kid to presebr in class. the kid that presents has no.connection with the paper!And I feel that way about beyonce.
She gets my respeft as an amazing performer, but thats it. I feel that people forget the ither things that matter. Why other artistshave an edge and shoukdbhave more respect then beyonce
Beyonce does have a hand in the creative process of every song she gets weather she is telling the writer exactly what she wants, arranging or re-arranging the harmonies & melodies (which she does most), or writing the lyrics. etc. So she is more than just a presenter of the song. She never just takes a song the way it is.

Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross just to name a few didn't write their own songs, either. Does that mean that they don't deserve the praise that they get? Nobody pretends that these people are songwriters, they get praise for their extraordinary talents as singers and performers, not to mention that good music is good music regardless of who wrote it. Britney on the other hand, is barely a decent singer or performer, so she hardly deserves to be on the same level as Beyoncé.

Those are real artist and legends. And Aretha Franklin has self praised herself many times. She even gets mad when don't refer to her as the Queen of Soul.

Legendary work rarely comes out of a thin air. It takes a determination and pride in your work to get there. Beyonce is going at her work with a winner's mind. That's not something to be ashamed of, it's something to applaud. That's how we know she's serious about what she does. It's one of the many reasons I stan for her and something I hope she never stops doing. That's the thing about her that inspires me the most.

As a big fan of Michael, I can honestly tell you that he did not deem himself the "King of pop" -- it was actually his good long time friend Elizabeth Taylor who started to refer to him as such within the media, naturally it caught on. Also, several media outlets were referring to him as such (and rightfully so)
I wish it was more well known that he didn't title himself the King of pop because it makes him come off incredibly power hungry and pretentious.
