I honestly believe that there's nothing Gaga can do right now to please anyone. She's the biggest popstar in the world, and she has ridiculously high expectations that people have for her, even her haters, "She used to be so popular; She used to be so great."
I agree. However, she's not, and I'm trying to accept it. Just like I wouldn't REALLY want her to release more singles from BTW (I'd much rather she prepare for a new release instead). However, because I know that she's going to go ahead and release more singles, I see no point in bitching and moaning about her doing it.
Plus, I would really like to see what she WILL come up with on future BTW singles in regards to fashion/music videos/performances. Even further, she could have another top 10 smash or #1 on the album. I don't think we can say with conviction that anything on the album will smash or flop anymore considering our judgments as fans so far has been quite off (as a whole at least).

There are a lot of thing she can al least try to do. Sure, they won't save the era but they will prevent it from getting even worse.
She's set the bar very high, it's true. But she also keeps praising and hyping her work for no reason.

I'd be interested in Scheisse/HML as being singles, since I think they have the creative merit and success potential to warrant it. But I don't see why she'd even risk it at this point after MTN crashed and blew up (in all of the wrong ways).
About the album selling, we all saw the numbers before. Lets not kid ourselves, the big numbers right now are because of the holiday season. Come mid January, fans will be hollering when BTW is back to #70 on the BB200.

To your first comment, I didn't necessarily mean you, but since you were the one talking about whether or not to release singles, I was stating that to you.
Eh, I would say that she could be risky enough to release those two songs. They have the potential to flop hard or smash. There won't be an intermediate level (that is to say, I see them flopping as in performing similarly to MTN/Judas).

Marry the Night is as radio friendly as it gets.
Maybe it's the Jo Calderone and the Eggs and the "Mitosis of the future" that's turning people off?

Pyro-bra? Fierce. Reverse Drag? So 18th Century.

I know when I turn the radio on, I don't do it to listen to a thinly veiled sermon on birth empowerment
It's strictly my puss-shake time.

Very true. -- but it worked for BTW....and MTN has a better hook. The chorus is her most "sing-along" worthy of the era....and it's a straight up club worthy track.

Nobody cares about lyrics especially in countries such as France where basically 50% of the people are illeterate in English and 40% think saying "How are you?" is already speaking fluently!
And by the way Telephone didn't have the most elaborate lyrics yet it violently smashed here (France)!

That's a valid point and one of the reasons why I'm saying she should change direction and imagine: they are clearly going against the perception of her music.

She has ALWAYS praised her works especially in interviews. It's just that now she's doing it through twitter so it's just seen as pretentious to some people. I remember the hype for the Telephone video.

Agreed.
Telephone had a smoother production. It's the production in Born this Way that's turning people off.
Personally I've learned to love it, but I could see how it could appear intrusive to the average radio listener.

I think she is trying. The only options she really has is either to be a trooper and try her best to continue promoting the album (which she has chosen to do so far and will most likely continue to do) or just quit releasing singles and stay on the DL with her tour.
I don't think that even if she released "radio" songs that Gaga would be smashing like Rihanna or Katy or Adele this go-round. Gaga, like many others, cannot be on top all the time. Gaga went nearly 3 years topping all the charts, having all the success. Her "time" is over for now. Right now, it's Katys/Adeles/Rihanna's time.
Maybe next album, Gaga can start to see some of the success that she saw in the TFM era. However, I don't see it happening for a while.

It's always been that way and it hasn't stopped her from reaching the top. Why? Because, contrary to popular belief, single sales and radio support don't mean as much as people try to say.

Your point? That doesn't change the fact that BTW has sold over 5.5m copies WW with 8m+ shipments.

Yep, but even with the visceral reactions, people are still intrigued, confused, and interested.

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE : If Marry The Night does eventually go top 10 , would you want her to release anymore singles ?

I would say that even if it doesn't, she should at least release 2 more singles. And if she did go top 10, I would say release at least 2 more singles.

Many answered! But as for me I would like her to release other singles at the condition that she hires professionals for her vids, otherwise no it would just spoil the nice images I associate to those songs (especially bloody mary and HML)!
