And she took what little momentum she had gained from that era and released Yoü and I.
Oh Gaga - what a roller coaster this era has been.
it has been a roller coaster and hopefully on her next era she will learn from her mistakes but other than Judas's success and the edge video i've been happy , we got an amazing #1 album , a #1 hit song that's sold almost 3.5 million copies and so far 4 top 10 singles
....and that's all fans want...is more, more, more without rationally thinking about what "more" could possibly entail.....so GaGa will probably give us more singles, but lets not have breakdowns when Bloody Mary can't crack the Bubbling Under.
Exactly.
Of course I want more of Gaga's songs on the radio, and of course I would love to see what creative direction she takes those videos in. But do I think it's for the best of her career? No.
And I wouldn't want her to be damaging her future prospects so I can get off on a great 4 minute period in which I hear another single on the radio. (And probably the only time I'd hear it, if she were to truly go experimental with her releases.)
Except, you're forgetting that if she truly wanted to sell singles, she could release a CD or song that is specifically meant to be sold and be a radio hit. That's the advantage Gaga has. She's able to experiment or slay depending on her mood. Some of you, not saying you specifically, act like she's lost her touch when that's not the case. She could easily make another Just Dance or Poker Face... but I guess she doesn't want to.

It's not that I want more, more, more, it's that I want her to follow what her heart tells her.

i wouldve traded gaga herself for the BR video if i had to
I simply can't be pleased with AP's Entertainer of the Year etc. etc. only getting Top 40 hits.
Maybe that's where the difference is lying between the two sides of this conversation. With all of the hype around her, I think she SHOULD be getting those Top 10 hits.
It's not just you. It's not just the fans. It's the general public.
I honestly believe that there's nothing Gaga can do right now to please anyone. She's the biggest popstar in the world, and she has ridiculously high expectations that people have for her, even her haters, "She used to be so popular; She used to be so great."
I agree. However, she's not, and I'm trying to accept it. Just like I wouldn't REALLY want her to release more singles from BTW (I'd much rather she prepare for a new release instead). However, because I know that she's going to go ahead and release more singles, I see no point in bitching and moaning about her doing it.
Plus, I would really like to see what she WILL come up with on future BTW singles in regards to fashion/music videos/performances. Even further, she could have another top 10 smash or #1 on the album. I don't think we can say with conviction that anything on the album will smash or flop anymore considering our judgments as fans so far has been quite off (as a whole at least).
Britney went..........2.5 albums (!!) without a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 and a ban on radio stations. The gap is something crazy like, "Oops I Did It Again" through "Toxic." I think she turned out fine....Lady GaGa will be fine too. As long as she has an amazing stanbase, she's in good hands.
What does she have to lose by releasing more singles?
I was exaggerating, it's not going to happen any time soon.
But to be fair I don't think the BTW Gaga brand has completely set in with the general public yet. Party because radio has rejected half of her singles its the general public is apprehensive to her new music. If you turn on any radio station, you can see this each time they play old singles like Poker Face, Just Dance, LoveGame, Telephone and pay MTN dust.
It'd be wise not to draw this out too long. 1 or 2 (at most) more singles is fine. What does she have to lose? Her brand power. The ability to get radio to play something due to her name alone.

I was going to use On The Floor and her previous Top 40 single before then, but yours is a better example.
Eventually, she may alienate herself from her pop audience to a point of no return-- a point where radio and it's audience reject her brand completely etc etc.
It's already happening. She's the pop star with the weakest radio support.

I never said I would bitch and moan if she released another single, I'm simply saying I don't think that's the best decision that she could make.
I'd be interested in Scheisse/HML as being singles, since I think they have the creative merit and success potential to warrant it. But I don't see why she'd even risk it at this point after MTN crashed and blew up (in all of the wrong ways).
About the album selling, we all saw the numbers before. Lets not kid ourselves, the big numbers right now are because of the holiday season. Come mid January, fans will be hollering when BTW is back to #70 on the BB200.

Didn't it also take like 11+ years for her to get her second #1 song too?
