Shape, let's keep it cool in here please. I'm not here for my thread being closed for the arguing and name-calling. Everyone has an opinion, and it should be respected (unless it is totally insane of course).

You know what, I think I'm gonna become a citizen of a different country, then sail illegally into Canada to reap up these benefits

Lol. Canada doesn't have a large problem with immigration, but I'm sure it is an issue.

Well, they had no choice in the ship fiasco. I'm pretty sure they would have violated international law by intercepting the vessel outside Canadian waters. This is also an occasional dilemma for Australia. Governments need to make sure that generous immigration policies aren't abused, cause that ruins it for everybody else.

That wasn't what I meant. Immgiranting to Canada is really easy. They could have just done it the legal way. I'm pretty sure if I tried to illlegally enter a foriegn country I'd be tossed out, and told not to come back.

Nearly 20% of America is under the poverty line and when you're a man with a family to feed, you're not going to be a diva and be afraid to get down and dirty. There were poor Americans working long hours in miserable conditions before, so their shouldn't be any reason why they should have a spot now when they need them.
So many Americans are asking why there aren't enough jobs and why America is losing its economy to China. Not saying this is totally to be blamed on illegal immigration, but is it a big factor? Oh hell yes. And just wait another decade when we REALLY start seeing the effects if its not handled.
|
You're blaming things the gov't has caused on illegal immigrants...
LET ME REPEAT MYSELF, NO ONE IS LOSING JOBS TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS BECAUSE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS CANNOT BE HIRED FOR LEGAL, TAX-PAYING JOBS. Are some illegal immigrants hired for those jobs, sure, but it doesn't happen as often as you're led to believe. We're losing jobs to China because America is a cheap bastard that rather pay Chinese children 10 cents an hour than American adults $8 an hour to make things like clothing.

Calling someone "****ing ignorant" isn't an insult, it's letting them know why they're gonna be reported.
Oh, and that opinions rule should include "uneducated" because I'm sure NE is a smart kid, but he doesn't know **** on how ****ed up America's policies are sometimes.
Canada welcomes their immigrants usually. It's very rare that someone is living here illegally and not working. Most are at least "permanent residents", and getting citizenship is stupid easy here.

Depends on where you immigrate to. Also, it's incredibly easy to immigrate if you follow policies properly/prove you can be a good citizen.
**** I'm becoming a European citizen just because my mother and both grandparents have citizenship in France. That means I can go ANYWHERE (and work anywhere) in the European union

Oh, and you're not going to be an economic superpower for long.
China is slowly climbing up the Top100, and when they uproot America from the #1 slot, there will be meltdowns all around the world

If anyone wants to worry about their jobs, worry about computers and machines doing them, or being outsourced to other countries completely. That Made in China sticker is famous for a reason

It's an insult and warnable. Too much of it could get the thread shut down. Though what he's saying is almost borderline ignorant, so everyone should take a deep breath.

And if you think that allowing someone to immigrate is "top priority", then I just can't.
Oh my god these last two paragraphs I can't even reply to you I'll just report you for being ignorant.
You're clearly a victim of propaganda, and this is coming from someone who is semi right-wing.
Actually, I'll just say this: People dont come to America for the abysmal foreign and immigration policies. They come here because you're an ECONOMIC superpower. Don't forget that.
|
You're not an American, so I wouldn't expect you to even know much about my country's situation. Its easy to make judgements when you're standing from afar. And what? It's America's fault that we don't just allow EVERYONE and ANYONE to walk in and take our resources from our people?
Do you think KOREA or ISRAEL allows illegal immigrants to just stomp into their country? Does anyone call them ignorant? No. Only America is "ignorant" when we try to help our own people.
You and I both don't know anyone's motive for why they would be in a country illegally, so stop acting like you know anymore than I do. I never once said illegal immigrants are skipping green card applications for FUN.
To immigrate, you have to wait your turn just like ANYONE else. Can you imagine if someone walked into your room without knocking? That's what illegal immigration is.
This is not an issue of being left or right wing. This is REALITY. I think too many people are caught up in being afraid of being pinned as racist. This is not racism or ignorance. It's a matter of allowing a country to cater to its own citizens before anyone else.

Your ancestors did that. Your ancestors came to this land, murdered its people, raped its women and children, stole its food, and took over everything... and here you are complaining because Mexicans want to come to this country and do something you'd never do for a pathetically small amount of money?
And did you really just compare the US to Korea and Israel? BYE.

Because I wasn't born in the land of the dollar menu, my opinion is automatically uneducated and stupid? It's not tough to see the problems America has, regardless of what side of the looking glass you're on.
Using North Korea and Isreal as an example to make America's policies seem less awful is useless, and I'm not here for that.
I didn't say you said it was for fun. The only motive would be to avoid taxes, and even then they'd make more money as legal citizens and being taxed rather than just going untaxed and doing poor paying jobs
I'm a little kinder than that, I'd obviously ask why they're in my room, and unless they're here to wreak havoc, I'd let them stay. OOP I think I just solved America's immigration problem.
What the **** does allowing people into the country have anything to do with not catering to the other citizens of said country? Seriously? Oh and I mentioned my political standing because the right-wing tends to be seen as propaganda laced, and I'm telling you that you're clearly a victim of Fox News or something.

The American government hasn't caused ANYTHING on illegal immigrants. Why do you keep acting like somehow they're entitled to have a job here? I understand alot of them are coming from poor places, but America NEEDS preserve its job for our OWN citizens.
Not every job is a tax-paying JOB. That does not change the fact that those jobs could go to Americans who are in POVERTY and can still get paid. And YES, it happens VERY often. It wouldn't be a mass nationwide issue if it was a little problem. We're losing jobs to China AND illegal immigration. They're both problems that are contributing to low employment that is falling LOWER.
For some reason, some of you are so afraid of being considered racist, that you want to say "THATS IGNORANT".
It's just the reality. Sometimes there are things that are sad that we don't want to here, but illegal immigration is an increasing probem. There are 20 million illegal immigrants in America and its increasing.

This is 100% true. I did a study myself, (not much credibility I know ) but I found that the People's Republic of China is already ahead of the U.S. I ranked each country on 60 different aspects ranging from Freedom of the Press to Military expenditures to Imports/Exports. Pretty much every important aspect and got point values.
1. People's Republic of China - 1,338
2. USA - 1,282
3. Russia - 732
4. Japan - 647
5. India - 544
6. France - 531
7. Germany - 499
8. Canada - 441
9. United Kingdom - 345
10. Norway - 351
11. Australia - 337
12. Brazil - 319
13. Italy - 288
14. Denmark - 280
15. Sweden - 280
16. Finland - 269
17. Netherlands - 259
18. Switzerland - 247
19. Singapore - 241
20. New Zealand - 227

Dollar Menu comment was more attributed to the idea of excess and cheapness at the risk of destroying the economy.
The laziness comment in my previous post I will defend, but not very much. It was more of a stereotype, and I really shouldn't have stooped that low to prove my point.
The fat comment was totally dumb. My bad

Most of the time it's not that people in the US "can't" find a job, it's that they aren't willing to take what they can get. Most require a certain income to live their lives, or demand certain hours, or don't like doing certain tasks. Whereas mos immigrants who come from worse countries than the US don't see a problem taking what they can get. This is the generalization, but it's the most often seen case.
