ACAs, American Carrie Awards, sometimes called as the American Country Awards. Just another irrelevant awards show by the FOX network. Fake guitars are the prestigious trophies that equal to the gold gramophone statue from the GRAMMYs.
Ooohh. I thought those were a while back.
Don't really care for fan-voted/network-chooses/ratings based awards..
After Taylor sweeping everything, they're trying not to make it seem like the Taylor Swift Awards I guess..
I agree. But those people are rarely the ones who are focused on winning a grammy. Those are usually artists like Drake, Jay Z, Kanye, Beyonce, etc, who really do put a lot into their craft. And artists who make music just for the music LMFAO and co., rarely get acknowledged by the grammy. I'm just saying just because our faves don't get nominated, it doesn't really take awy from the prestige of the award. In my opinion, that's how he kind of made it sound.
Yeah, those that you mentioned there are part of the 2% from the acts that really care about their music. The GRAMMYs will always relevant to me, it doesn't matter that my faves don't get nominated. But, I think it would be nice for them to give the award to the one that really deserved, quality wise, doesn't matter a popular act or not. Make it as the real competition if they really want to awards the deserving one. Or, just give the trophies to the 98% if they choose quantity over quality. Don't nominate the 2% at all, just send them to the Hall of Fame. That's where the 2% belongs to. For example, we all know Justin Bieber's motivation, the GRAMMYs & the fame, not to make the good music. He really wants a Grammy, just give it one, he sold a lot of copies. That should be enough.
Of course I'm happy if my faves won those gramophones, but there's a part of me wanting for my faves just step back from it. Cause awards show treat music like commodity, they put one against each other, while actually there's a room for every one. A grammy is cool, but it's not the most important. The quality of the music should be the one. These awards show also put a hand in shaping the today's music scene to be quantity & award oriented, not the quality.

Hahaha. Well maybe, but even if the fan votes really counted, taylor should have won (AMAs & ACMs are the prove). The winners were the performers and the ones who attended. Very simple. lol.
And I can't at Carrie's stans bragged about that rigged show at some forum.

I agree with most of what you said, except for the last section. People would be motivated by money, fame, beating the competition, selling albums, regardless if we had the Grammy's or not. The 98% you talking about rarely gets any Grammy nomination though; which kind of proves that they're not focused on those 98% at all. I think most of the time, the Grammy's get it right and sometimes they don't, like the Oscar's.
But if a rapper/singer wants to sell as much albums as he can and get rich as quick as he can, I doubt he's thinking "Man I'm going to make a grammy-worthy album", he's thinking "What's catchy on the radio?". So what I'm trying to say is and I hope is coming across, that those 98% are probably more motivated by money and fame than they are interested in winning grammy's. And because of that, the Grammy's really doesn't play a big role in shaping today's music scene.

Well based on logic its easy to understand. Now people can say 'what about Aldean and Brad they won and they didn't perform'. The quick answer to that is they both did duets with two of the A.I. queens lol but alot of people don't know that Jason has Lauren open for him this tour and Brad has Scotty so its to hype up there tour I'm sure

Exactly. All those awards are rigged. They even show the disclaimer at the end of the shows. Taylor got a lot of backlash for winning everything, so I guess they're trying to spread the wealth around.

Yeah, kinda true. For the 98%: 1. Money & Fame, 2. Grammy, VMA, AMA, etc. etc., 3. Quality. But the one thing that I still hope is, the committee should not lowered their standard just to acknowledge that undeserving-but-wanting 98%. Don't give a nod to them until they make the music that is good. Give the credit when it's due. And actually, I meant about ALL awards show. Give the awards to the deserving, not the popular who made crap ones.
At Oscar's, the voters check out the films first, than they'll vote. At grammys? They vote the ones they knew before, without listening to the records that submitted first, doesn't matter if theirs ****** or not. I know there are thousands of CDs they should heard if that's the rule, but it will be the fairest system.

I just knew about it. Lauren for Aldean, Scotty for Paisley! Well, seems like American Idol is the provider of new acts every year for the country genre now, no? Oh my God, country music you're on the highway to hell, quote me.
I'll see if country will be as strong as Rock/Folk/Blues/Bluegrass in the future. This will be very funny to watch.

Scotty actually has a good cd I might be biased since he's my cousin but I liked it. He needs to sing more songs that relate to him though some of the songs you'd think he was an elderly man near his death bed with what he was talking about.

Now I'm wondering if those stans who bragged about the win on ACAs, read the disclaimer or not.
Well, it's okay. Better lost in a rigged show and win the real ones, rather than the other way around. But I still don't like awards shows, even tho it's nice knowing that my faves got acknowledged for their works.

As earlier I said, I'm not into country, so I can't talk about it.
But, give me Metallica-Megadeth-Slayer-Anthrax or JEW-Nirvana-Sleigh Bells anytime, over A.I. graduates.

I love country but am a huge Metallica fan hah I know peope tell me I'm stupid sometimes but I often call Metallica the Taylor Swift of Heavy Metal I see alot of similarities. I'd still take the Who or Aerosmith over any of the country artists and The Who is probably the only artist I actually like more than Taylor. Aerosmith is pretty close though. Pete Townsend = greatest innovator ever

gurl, you're not alone! Actually, I just thought about Metallica as the Taylor Swift of HM! Pretty funny that I just saw this after stanning for them quite a while.
Agree again with the Who, but not into Aerosmith. I'd take the Police over Aerosmith. I spend most of my time in europe & asia, even tho I travel to us a lot (that's how I learned about country, always trying to keep up with the culture. Hahaha.), but I still don't like country. It's good, but just not appeal to me. :/

haha I'm glad I'm not alone I thought there was something wrong with me. Yeah I've been a big Aerosmith fan have all there albums alot of songs are bland lyrically but Steven Tyler is just on his vocals. Dream On is beyond epic. I don't know how I discovered the Who since my grandpa completely hates them hah but they seriously don't have a single bad song much like Taylor even though Change is probably the closest thing she has to a bad song hah. I'd love to see her co-write with Pete Townsend that would be the greatest song ever written .
Ps. I'm not a girl my username was supposed to be countryfriedchicken but they left off the en so people think I'm a girl

The Who = awesomeness. I can't say much about Aerosmith. Oh btw, what abt The Beatles? Legendary band, one and only. I can see Taylor & Beatles (along with other legends) in a same place in the future, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
HAHAHAHAHA! Too long? Oh man really, How many times do people have mistaken you as a girl? Btw, sorry dude.

Actually your the first but they won't let me change. Honestly I'm not a big Beatles fan hah I find many of there songs overally repetitive and think they're influence is one of the reasons why music has been slowly getting worse for years. I know I'm in the minority on this though and haven't listened to much more than a few of the singles and the sgt. peppers album but from what I've heard I don't like much. Hey I hope I'm not keeping you from anything I have so much freetime today and am being very lazy until my final tonight

Oh ****. lol.
Uh, some of their songs are pretty good, simple yet meaningful. And it's the fact that they also had their fair share of the music decreasing trend. John & Paul were great when they worked together, but their solo projects mostly were crap. Unbelievable considering the fact that those two were from the legendary band.
Well, no. I'm taking a day off today. I actually need to work some stuffs but I just don't feel like to. Way too lazy just to turn on the light, using a stick golf for it. Cold weather + hot choco + some sweet treats + cozy sofa = nobody dare to touch or even talk with me. lol.
btw, remember taylor's collabo with john mayer on 'half of my heart', just found out on tumblr that the actual video concept of it was taylor & john getting married at the end. too bad they broke up first. it could have been an epic video if they went with that concept.
