"Everytime" is undoubtedly Britney's best ballad—lovely and sincere and heartbreaking. I'm not sure I could call it the best
song of her career (she's got a couple of stone-cold classic that make it a hard decision), but I would put it on any list of her greatest work in a heartbeat.
