Campy, Ace? Really? A little cheesy, sure. It's just a rockified version of the same self-empowerment sentiments that fill Stripped, after all—except that the exhausting oversinging that kills a lot of Christina ballads sort of works here. But I'm still not sure why that is somehow mutually exclusive from "Fighter" being a legitimately good song. Honestly, with the exception of "You Lost Me," it might actually be the best single she's ever released. That guitar riff is one of the highlights of her whole career, and Christina is so devout in her vocal performance that you hardly notice the immensely overwhelming production. I'll jam to this one anytime.

I don't see how you can be so harsh on "Touch of My Hand." It's probably one of the most convincingly sexually mature performances that Britney has ever produced, and it easily could have acted as a template for her career moving forward. What's more, there's this sort of sad lilt underpinning the veneer of sensuality—it's in the mandolin and in Britney's vocals—that introduces a really interesting ambiguity of intention. Is she lonely? Is she scared of her self-exploration? It's all quite hauntingly beautiful.

"Baby Boy" was my **** back in the day, but I don't find it as exciting as I once did. It still kicks (the verses are sexy as hell, and Sean Paul is surprisingly great), but the chorus lacks urgency, so where the song should pop, it kind of falls flat. The Indian and Middle Eastern influences are undoubtedly hot, but it's a bit of a letdown coming off "Crazy in Love."

It's never been among my personal favorite tracks from In the Zone, but I still think "Breath On Me" probably one of the best songs on the album. That Mark Taylor production is epic, and Britney is on point here (she sounds fantastic on the chorus). Everything comes together for a pretty hypnotizing listening experience. Top four is a little much, but it's not an embarrassment.
