It depends which time they emerged that you're talking about.
If both gaga & madonna came out back in madonna's time- madonna would have been more successful because at that time people weren't ready for something as crazy as gaga
If madonna & gaga came out in 2008... Gaga would have caught more attention and been more successful. People may have looked over madonna as just another pop star because she isnt crazy enough.
In general though- madonna cannot be compared to anyone. We just compare our favs to madonna to make our favs feel better. Its the truth. We know madonna is the queen regardless of w/e the ****.

90% of your posts on ATRL simply trash Gaga for her supposed lack of vocal and songwriting talent ( http://atrl.net/forums/search.php?searchid=3567209). It's funny that it seems that the only word you know is "delusional" yet you are probably the most delusional person in this thread. Even Gaga's biggest haters recognize her vocal talent. They may not think she's amazing, but to say she's crap live and crap in studio recordings is bordering on insanity.

just recent examples of me praising gaga: in the thread about which songs didn't deserve to flop i listed Man Down, Criminal and Judas. Total hater, yep.

just illustrating a point from a thread i visited today. i praised gaga numerous times before.
she is in my sig on line 3. why would i put her there? cos she is good. i just dont think she is great vocally or at least not as good as her fans try to push it.

honestly the biggest shade people throw gagas way is tht she copies Madonna but if they had came out at the same time i think Gaga wouldve still had these amazing ideas and the haters would have nothing to go on. so i voted for gaga... also shes better vocally imo than madge

that point was about different things. one is about sounding good in studio and the other about hitting notes live. those are different things. dont try to turn it against me, cos u can't.

There's no point in YOU arguing because you have no point. You make baseless, vague statements while finding ways to misspell words like " cos " and overusing words like "delusional" without making an actual, valid argument. I clearly called you out for trashing Gaga's studio voice and live voice and praising Madonna's studio voice, yet in another thread you ignore Gaga's amazing studio voice because "it's not live." Gaga is so clearly influenced by Madonna that it's obvious that she wouldn't be the provocateur that she is today without M. Madonna eclipsed a lot of superior vocalists in her day, and unless by some miracle Gaga had had the vision to do what she does now without Madonna's career to guide her, I don't see why Gaga wouldn't have been one of them. I voted for Madge.

Gaga can't be "crazier" than Madonna when most of her gimmicks come from Madonna. And if M hadn't been a star before 2008, the pop landscape would be so different that we couldn't know what would or would not have been accepted.
