i would disagree. gaga's studio recording voice is crap. when she sings live she tries hard to impress, but her voice falls either flat or simply ends up shouting.

So you're making the argument that Madonna's a better singer because her STUDIO RECORDING VOICE is better than Gaga's??? Katy Perry's STUDIO RECORDING voice is basically flawless, but we all know that her REAL voice sounds nothing like it. You can't dismiss five videos, five amazing live vocal performances, with the argument that Madonna's STUDIO RECORDING voice is better and that Madonna is "decent live"...are you serious?
Gaga's songs don't always showcase her vocal talent; she does a lot of dance songs and obviously many of them don't show off her vocal talent. If that's what you mean, then I agree to an extent, but you can't just dismiss her live performances considering live performances are a DIRECT reflection of someone's actual vocal talent. Anyone can sound like they have a beautiful voice in a studio recording.

They are so ignorant it's not even funny. What does Gaga's vocals are mediocre do they not understand, plus you even gave them both their vocal ranges. Madonna has more range, plus doesn't shout trying to make her self seem impressive.

Gaga definantly has more to her vocals than Madonna. And you know that. I'm sure you do.
I watched R1BW with my mother, who had previously criticised Gaga for being too 'Madonna', and at the end she simply said: "I take it all back. Madonna could NEVER do something like that. Outstanding."

Madonna is one of Gaga's biggest inspirations. Gaga would be much different, considering David Bowie and a few other of her inspirations were active then. If she emerged right then, she would be so much, maybe completely, different. There's no way we would really know what she would be like, but she still is great, so anyone saying Gaga needs to realize that and sit down.
