Plain and simple she had no business releasing a album in the FIRST QUARTER of the music calendar if she wasn't going to promote hard stateside and overseas. Why don't you compare how old they were at certain points of their career rather than how much time they've spent in their careers? 10 years into her career, Madonna was 35. By that logic, Britney still has 6 more years to step away from her original sound if she chooses to.

I'd say she really changed her sound with Erotica, which I feel Britney did the same type of experimentation with In The Zone. Madge was very much in the dance-pop style for her first four albums/six years.

Christina's problem is that she changes too much and the music on her albums are all over the place. But I think what may help her in the future is that she has appealed to an older crowd successfully when she was fairly young, so I think she can do it again. No one is here for Diplo when it comes to Christina's music.

I agree completely. Honestly I'm starting to think this whole era could've been much different if they just went on with the scheduled September 2010 single release with the album in Nov-Dec.

But Britney has shown significant growth as an artist through out her career, she grew as a better dancer, singer, song writer, etc. She has also contributed more to her career than people realize or give her credit for because they insist on basing their "opinions" off their misconceptions.

Why is this even being debated? We don't have a clue what these two ladies will be doing in the next 10 years so can we move on? I think Britney is at that point where she's only going to release a couple more albums and that's it. As for Xtina unless that girl can gain a solid fan base and attract the general public she will remain the same. Let's see how she does with her next album, and what her goals are for next 10 years. She might put out a couple more albums and retire as well, unless she wants to keep going.
