The only MAJOR difference is that one is seen by millions, the other one isn't. People will bring up the whole STD testing, but even that argument would be flawed, since even with STD testing, you still have studios getting sued for having **** stars contracting diseases on and off set and passing it to other actors.

Prostitution requires no check up. You don't know if your client is HIV positive or some contagious diseases and illnesses. In ****ography, all of you get checked for HIV and other illnesses. The **** industry is MUCH safer....that's the reason why it is legal and Prostitution isn't.

That's true, since nothing is absolute. But it's still much safer than prostitution.

Is there a law for or against sleeping around with many people, without getting paid? I think the monetary thing makes the difference, but morally, it's the same. There are plenty of people doing it.

Oh really? And what cave have you been living in?
An HIV test only checks for 6 months before the test date. So if you've contracted HIV within the last 6 months it wont show up and you can still transmit it to another person.
Not all **** studios regularly test for STDs and quite a few of them are being investigated and sued for that

and thats a valid argument but more often than not, people make the conscious decision to do prostitution. Granted thats probably a desperate solution to their problems but the fact remains that it was a choice, like it was for me.

That was my entire point. Yes, there may be someone who was forced into prostitution, but more commonly it's a choice.

The only difference between a ****star and a prostitute is that one is infront of a film and the other is in a private area doing his/HER thing. The rest is just the same, they both get paid for sex, they both do all types of stuff even unsafe sex and all kinds of out of this world stuff. One thing i think many always act so defensive about them being different is because they enjoy watching **** and they have double standards. The problem i have with this country is how hypocritical we are (**** IS OKAY BUT PROSTITUTION IS DISGUSTING) Honey face the truth they are both similar. And when you bring morality into this 80% of people on mother earth think being gay is immoral and so you have to be careful if your gay and you use the term moral. Prostitution should be made legal and should have policies that touch the heart of government, whereby registration and all that follows can easily be regulated. We cant have a perfect society, yes many illegal goons will take advantage of the legalization but at least we as a society did something small to ensure people are safe both prostitutes and clients. We will reduce the death,transmission of STD'S and forced prostitution. 1% reduction is something as compared to nothing. And those people up here bashing others cause of age and number of posts it just shows how immature you yourself are as a person and insecure. We should learn to research for ourselves rather than being dictated upon by someone or something on who is worthier than the other whether prostitute or whatever.I know nothing about why someone chooses to be one and for that i have no right to judge and dictate upon them because some do it out of free will maybe they like it, others like the money and who am i to judge i ain't GOD but i am gay and some think i am immoral and disgusting but to myself i am proud of who i am,no matter what anyone says.

Which is why legalizing prostitution would be a good thing. In Germany, it's legal but if you do it you are required to get check-ups. Now, I realize that that wouldn't eliminate all the STDs and that many would continue to do it under the radar of the law, but it would still be an improvement from the current situation.

Did I lie, though? People are going to spread STDs anyway. Why not let people pay to contract it? Think of what it will do for our economy. Prostitutes will be spending more money on pregnancy tests, STD medication, food for their 10 kids, and crack. The men/women paying for the sex will be visiting doctors more often, paying for divorces, buying STD medication, or purchasing a gun to murder their spouse.
