Rihanna and Def Jam are so ****ing stupid for releasing "Cheers". She's going to flop, I just know it. "Skin" should have been released instead. It's a smash! Rihanna also needs to do a music video in a cemetery with dead bodies crawling all over her. She would get so many views! She should ditch the pop sound and just do rock music!

The fans.
They're everywhere, twitter, facebook, some are probably bold enough to write her letters on how to manage her career.
My point is, a lot of popstars and their labels know what they're doing and the fans should trust that instead of preaching on what should have been done.

For a hater, this is a tactic, and an extremely effective one. For a fan, let's say if you do this, I'll question if you really ARE a fan. It almost never comes out correctly, neutral, or anything less than being critical.

Exactly. This is true. There are so many instances where I've read fans giving suggestions online and their ideas are sometimes much better than the label's.

It's the same (bad) opinion in both quotes, it's just one is ruder and goes into more detail. Take out the aggressiveness in the second one and you've got yourself a decent post, and at least the second hypothetical poster came up with a (terrible) idea for a music video. I think creative thinking like this should be encouraged

That's undeniably true.

People are buyers...buyers influence artists choices (in fierce music industry)...atrlers (lol) not only are buyers but they're totally in a music industry/marketing mind, following (sometimes hourly) what's going on with the latest trends and moves...

It comes to my mind that game.."Plan out the album" (perfect example of what I just said)

and the fact labels sometimes just do things that are meant to flop (according to atrlers)..and then, as predicted, they flop!
