Look at any circular that has sales all over it. Waldbaums, your grocery store, Target, Best Buy, etc.
The phones that are being paired with the Gaga CD are 600 dollar phones. Its no surprise that on the best buy circular they're putting Free 5 times on the cover page. and the world Save twice with promises to save up to 100-150 dollars. Its an economic tactic used by Best Buy to get sales for these phones.

The record can be broken, and probably will be. But if she's done that, then who's to say her team hasn't been buying copies of their own records on iTunes, which would explain their quick ascension to number 1, but their just as quick decline. If this does count as sales, which I'm doubtful they will, she'll of course get huge, 1Mill+, opening sales. But her sales would've been great regardless, so it's like she only cares about breaking records and being on top, not about her music and it getting the success it deserves.

I wouldn't even worry too much about it. If this is a sufficient amount of her first week sales and it will only be done the first week, then her sales will be frontloaded. A huger drop than normal will probably happen. So, it could be a great thing for her and the label and a bad thing.

Did you address the fact that Gaga will gain loads of free sales from a free give-away? People are not paying for the album, they are paying for the phone. I think you strategically avoided that part of my post.

Which doesn't imply that she wouldn't have reached number 1. It does imply, however, that if they did buy her records, it would've quickened the time it took for her to get to #1. Of course she has enough fans, Kesha does. I hope you notice the IF'S too. I never set that statement in stone. I never said it was fact. I only said that if she's willling to use these snarky tactics to inflate her accomplishments, then who's to say she hasn't used them before?

But anyway, those questions can go unanswered, as I'm sure they will. I only brought those two things up to support my statement that by doing things like this, she's making her accomplishments less credible, when she probably could achieve these feats without the extra help.

How many people do you think buy 600-650 dollar phones from best buy on a weekly basis. Obviously ones that arent selling as much as the store has hoped/expected. Best Buy gives away free phones after rebate daily, does that mean there desperate No, theres obviously a profit somewhere to be gotten, they wouldnt just give a phone away. Thats why its not unthinkable of Best Buy to spend 8 dollars for every 600 dollar phone sold if theres also an outside profit to be made.
