Its like every five pages people come in to ask why her name alone hasn't kept her in the top ten or some derivative of that and the same answers are repeated over and over and over again. Can we just sticky a damn FAQ in the first post of this thread?

Beyonce is a great live performer, but musically she's all hype. Her music grows stale after a few listens.

That's why she has 16 grammys more than any artist of this day an age right, also the Most Grammy Nods from a Female Artist in History 42 right?

If this was a month in and the single hasn't taken off I would be worried, but it hasn't even been three weeks yet let alone two months so im good. The young kids and specifically the fans on ATRL have become obsessed with instant single success and the focus they put on that is why albums aren't being moved by their respective favorite singers. 400,000 people can spend $1.29 in a week, but those same 400k will not be up for spending $20 on a full album because the woman in question doesnt mean that much to them. Like Alicia Keys, Beyonce has a very steady fanbase that will buy her full album based on one thing alone and that is her name. And while some will say that the iTunes single should do the same you are forgetting something, Beyonce is 29 almost 30 years old, most of her casual fans and stans are 20 and older. Run The World was my first time purchasing a digital single by Beyonce and my second ever because it wasn't my thing, I bought the albums though like most. Another thing is, the other girls have singles that take off not based on their name (minus Gaga) but because people like the song, some people dont like RTWG yet, but they will in the future more than likely, and as long as it goes 2x platinum I am good. Rolling In The Deep is a song not many understood or knew when it came out in November 2010 because they are too immature or young to understand it but they eventually got around to liking it 6 months later and it is currently #1 on iTunes in the USA as well as other countries. Chances are this will be Beyonces highest debut on the Hot 100 which a lot of people probably dont know because they know nothing about Beyonce or her charting success, one thing they need to know is that we ALWAYS get the last laugh always. They said B'Day would flop and she opened with over 500k without a #1 single, sold 3 million before Irreplaceable was released and sold another 3 million based off of that single and Beautiful Liar alone. People said I Am...Sasha Fierce would flop because it was contrived and forced, yet it sold 7 million and broke down doors among other things for her. Underestimating Beyonce (who makes over $80 million a year) is a thing only a fool with absolutely no knowledge in music would do, which is the only reason I am not currently having a huge meltdown and throwing tantrums. If this was anyone but Beyonce I would be bothered, but as she has shown, her talent on the stage alone can send a song skyrocketing and her voice alone can sell an album.
Good day.

True. Beyonce sells those albums at the end of the day and I'm not saying she won't, that's the last thing I'm saying. I even said I feel Bey stans are more of the physical purchasers and haven't made their way into the digital era yet.
But on a week by week comparison worldwide, Loud is selling at a faster pace then I Am...Sasha Fierce. But IASF did what... 7 million? Which is fantastic, Loud is at 4 million I hope Rihanna keeps pushing on since she's only 3 singles in and maybe a re-release, she could get to 7 million.
|
Well Adele has already outsold Rihanna and her album came out later. The rate an album sells means nothing because it can come to a halt at anytime. Loud is doing very well, but the fact that she had to convert back to a certain sound to sell is what bothers me. Rated R was great and all her so called "fans" turned on her and didn't want to buy it because they don't like more mature sounding music. That's the exact difference with Beyonce stans, we like mature music and just because RTWG hasn't taken off, doesn't mean it won't and it doesn't mean her era will be horrible like many seem to think.
