But wouldn't the acoustic sales count towards the original song? And seeing as it's presumably about to drop on the hot 100, we need that song.

I just want AT LEAST 6 weeks at #1 on Hot 100 to match California Gurls' run.
Interscope wants to milk BTW, so the acoustic will come out when BTW is apparently losing its steam. We have just about a month until the Glee episode. So I think it'll come out before then.
Maybe Glee will sing the acoustic version, or both? I trust in Interscope, home to today's biggest acts
