Yes, "Born This Way" has the thumping four-on-the-floor dance beat found in every dance song, but if you open your ****ing ears and get over your hangup of being confronted by this kick-hihat-kick/snare-hihat-kick-hihat-kick/snare-hihat patten that you've heard on a thousand the songs, you're likely to hear a lot of intricacies that give this track a very distinctive feel and set it apart from the latest Guetta or DJ Frank-E turd. Did you give the almost-masterful glitch and stutter editing the attention it deserves? Did you hear that quirky little sample/melody that plays softly in the background during the chorus? No, you didn't cause you heard that thump thump thump thump and rushed to the judgement that this is as generic as say, Usher's last hit or that new Pitbull single. I hate you.

This post was cute, Patrick. But, no. I listened to the song on repeat for a good 45 minutes to an hour this morning. I understand where you are coming from and what you are trying to do for the single, but the big picture is... there's nothing revolutionary here. There's not much that sounds like this on the radio right now, primarily because the sound is dated. So, although there may be a couple "quirky little samples" here and there, it doesn't take away from the fact that "Born This Way," the single declared to change pop music, was instead, a subpar rehash of a cross-section of 80's hits.
