No one "needs" it to excite them. We consume art for all kinds of reasons. Violence against women exists in the world and will be depicted in art. It's not rocket science. **** censorship and **** philistines.
And on that note, why is it that feminists never give a rat's ass when men are brutally slaughtered, mutilated, attacked on screen? A guy gets his penis chopped off in GOT, no word from feminists. Mind you, I don't think there's anything objectionable about that either. It serves a strong thematic purpose and moves the plot forward. The whole series is about the nuances of succession as the primary form of transference of power, so disabling someone's ability to produce offspring massively affects that. Same with rape, since it forces succession (had Sansa become pregnant with a boy, Ramsay's son would have inherited the North).
