Of course I'm aware of that, but at the same time, I also think the compositional simplicity of most Western pop songs has something to do with it. It's usually only a couple of chords and a very repetitive but melodic melody. I do think they have perfected the formula of simple pop songs, it started with The Beatles and then ABBA. And while English is the global language, those songs still smash in places where a lot of people don't speak English.
