Yeah, honestly a lot of organic radio hits take a lot of time to build up. You do have your huge smashes from the big radio artists. But Gaga is not a huge radio artist anymore. She's gonna have to build back up to that kind of status.

girl joanne was played on like every tv station as a dive bar commercial and I don't even think it cracked the top 100 on iTunes

I don't think DIC lyrics are controversial at all .. ? Maybe in the middle ages, but not in 2017.. Much 'worse' has been played even on US radio

The only lyrics that might be explicit is the "up all night trying to rub the pain out" if that. But for example Genie In A Bottle had like that exact same lyric and smashed so. They can always release a clean radio edit if necessary
