white anger and nationalism that would have supported Trump regardless of the Dem candidate
global anti-immigration sentiments
eight years of demonizing Barack Obama and by extension the Democratic party
the very bitter primary season and Bernie not supporting her til the very end
sexism both conscious and subconscious
protest votes and abstaining due to failing to account for future implications of a Trump presidency despite appeals
and a host of other issues.

No it was purely the DNC and Hillary's fault.

Christ no wonder many Americans never learn. Many of you have the critical thinking of a mouse and a memory of a goldfish.

Hillary made mistakes (#ImWithHer, 50 state strategy, etc...) but they were no bigger than any other mistake a campaign mistakes. What people didn't account for were the slew of ******** that Hillary had to endure. If it was her fault, it was for being such an effective platform that pissed off conservatives due to her being different from a traditional woman over the last 30 years, and being such a threat to criminals and autocrats that they actively worked against her.. Never have I ever seen as much animus towards someone as Hillary and it's legitimately unwarranted.

The "Bernie/Biden would've won" thing is merely speculation. Mostly because we're assuming from the point we know of them. No way to tell what would've shown up during the General Election. Maybe it's just the history buff in me or just resentment from Bernie's losing but I just find the whole "what if" thing annoying.

The land/small states Electoral College argument is... idk. Personally I see the EC as suppression of voices. We can talk about how it gives smaller states a voice but honestly what about the millions of voices that probably won't be heard, especially in the Deep South. I also hate the map of the "sea of red with blue spots" I feel like it doesn't really demonstrate demographic and political split and so people fall into this illusion that their area is purely red.

Trump's cabinet is tragic. Honestly.

In the past week, the New York Times has literally had to apologise for being so bent in their reporting against him and promise to be more unbiased. The difference is Trump's campaign fought back effectively against slurs whereas the DNC were deers in the headlights.

Hillary ran a mindblowingly TERRIBLE campaign. Everyone just assumed she had it in the bag, no one on her team or in her party (or her media connections) were aware of the huge anger 8 years of Democrat failures created.

it's not "merely speculation" when there is polling data to back those claims up. Bernie was stronger in the states that Hillary lost and she did not lose those states by a huge margin - it's very much within reason that Bernie could have done 1-2% better than Hillary and won those states

ALSO: Debbie is only in the House of Representatives meaning she only has to be popular in her small, very left-leaning district rather than her whole state. that gives the incumbent a huge advantage.

oh my god... are you insane? the media was Trump's biggest ally in this election process

Maine's second congressional district wouldn't have gone red, he probably would have won Iowa, possibly Ohio (not sure about though, it could have gone either way), he probably could have also had huge voter turnout in college towns in NC and turned that blue, and NH would have never been close.

He would have had appeal in some other blue collar areas of the country that didn't trust Clinton, bringing in the white working class vote and turning out millennials in higher numbers than they did.
