I consider Lorde to be fun pop of a different kind by the way. That's the ''alternative territory'' I was talking about a few pages ago. She does it so well that you forget you're listening to ''sad'' pop songs. The songs don't really take themselves seriously, lyrically and sonically, so it's easy to the ear imo.
That's just how I feel about her compared to Lana stuff.

And Thank God Gaga was a puppet. They made her work with ReDone, promote the outlandish look everywhere and create classics + iconic performances at the same damn time. That's why big record labels are good and we need them. Taylor has made her first real album 2 years ago. Max Martin is a living legend and he hasn't touched anyone!
