If you're ignorant like me and had never heard of this song until a certain M. Carey covered it, it was probably a nice little surprise. A beautiful six-minute ballad about being apprehensive to love again after being hurt, "One More Try" was the third consecutive #1 from Faith. For almost all of the voting period, "One More Try" was at least top 3, but the final few ballots meant a chance of a George victory became more and more unlikely.
Buyonce1814 is not happy: "I'm so pissed this song exists because Mariah ****ing had to cover it. Bitch, you couldn't have given us an original song over your shoddy cover? It's a good song though. It would have been a 10 if it wasn't for my drunk fave. I guess drink and talent is something Mariah and George have in common. Same here to be honest." OK sis. Latinazza aptly describes it as being "Soulful. Beautiful. Perfect." PrinceMichaelFan declares it "by far the best ballad of George Michael excluding "A Different Corner"".
And just like that, George is out!
