SM were hoping OOTN would have an EXO Miracles in December effect, and score a ballad hit that
the GP would find relatable and praise relentlessly. I def. expected it to at least be a moderate hit.
We've been over this before. OOTN was a digital flop so spare yourself the essays and stop clinging to physical receipts when I was obviously referring to a successful ballad single.

I love them Zack but Red Velvet are kind of a flop considering they're SM Ent aka the company with the biggest girl group of all time. Its ok though we all know Red Velvet consists of f(x)/SNSD leftovers + Yeri, I think SM were only expecting f(x) level success for them.

SNSD wasn't instantly successful and neither were f(x).
Seulgi trained for f(x) but none of them were meant for SNSD. Irene and Wendy were casted in 2012 and idk when Joy became a trainee.
ICC and DD were not flops, just because OOTN underperformed suddenly they are "kind of a flop". Literally what the hell.
Wendy's station song did well this year (700K+ digital), the only one doing better on station is Taeyeon.
Black Pink had a great debut, but YG is a mess and good luck waiting around for those 6 MVs. I'm not gonna rush to call RV a flop just based on one lessor comeback.

This thread doesn't get it right all the time and the Korean GP often drags them with results.
The response is that the Korean GP's taste "sucks" when things don't go their way.
RV is an A+ group in terms of talent. SM screwed up their momentum with OOTN (DD and ICC were both 1M+ sellers) but they are not a failure yet like everyone wants them to be.
