yeah
Britneys sold more albums, singles and grossed more.

It is a significant achievement.

Yes. She might not have strong catalog stats, but you aren't forgotten just because you haven't had a VEVO hit.

Celine, yes. Britney, no. And Janet bested both of them on Billboard's Anniversary chart. All inclusive, Janet's stats are more impressive than Celine and Britney's.

Celine has sold some 140M+ albums.
Britney has sold 84M albums.
Janet has sold 76M albums.
Janet did well on an inverse-chart point system (which is the laziest method ever; the second biggest album in the U.S. didn't make their top 200) thanks to radio. Both Britney and Celine have more single sales and streams than Janet, too.

|
Thats not true. Fans talk about Janet's success as it relates to the US because this site is US focused and based on US charts. No one is inflating Janet's stats WW. So you can stop. if the US wasnt so important world wide then half of ATRL shouldnt even exist on this US centric message board. Just sayin'....

Yall can throw Michael in the mix all you want, but Janet's accomplishments, impact, and influence will never go away. Nothing ATRL or anyone can do about it.
She's your faves fave. Your fave will bow down like they are suppose to in her presence.

MJ could have sold out any stadium WW - any place, any time. JJ can barely sell out arenas in her biggest market. Just keeping it real, sorry if that hurts your feelings.

I, personally, know a lot of JJ songs, because I'm actually a fan believe it or not.

the point is, who cares about THIS? This is a forgotten, local and insignificant accomplishment. I can list you more than 20 songs from Britney, Madonna or even Beyoncé that didn't chart inside the top 30 yet are more known, global and relevant than Janet's quick lil top 10 singles

One of the most influential female stars ever, she's not overrated in any way, especially by the public.

My feelings will never be hurt. As a life long Janet fan and Michael fan, I know the tea. If you and the other ignorant people wanna remain ignorant that's on yall.
You act like Janet never sold out stadiums..toured the world over..and is one of the greatest entertainers in history.

you don't have to copy someone for them to influence you.
I just find it humorous (for all the wrong reasons) when someone claims that ONE sole artist is the reason for a slew of other people.. who are CLEARLY influenced by superior artists than the one mentioned.

Janet was the first female to debut at #1 on the soundscan charts.
Additionally Celine isnt remembered here in the US like she is in the smaller countries and smaller music markets of the world. If they do remember her its because of the movie titanic and that song that everyone hated but was forced on them for two weeks while it sat at #1 on the HOT 100. I mention songs like The Power of Love to people and they look at me like Im speaking french to them.

I could do the same as well for Janet. Because where I'm from no one knows or talks about Madonna or Britney. However, Janet and Beyoncé are very known.

I don't care about Janet but this is true. This is the closest she has to a global classic.

Michael states dance was moving to a military style, which means, like the "moonwalk", he borrowed the concept from the creativity of street dancers. The only similarity between Captain EO and RN is the triangular formation, which is a standard formation in dance anyway.
And if Janet "borrowed" (or "stole", wording depending on how pressed you are) steps, she wouldn't have needed to co-choreograph a routine with Anthony Thomas.

You don't even think before you type anymore do you?
Yea Janet's records are irrelevant but Madonna stans are making threads celebrating her being the first artist from the 80s to get a vevo certified video with a million likes.

And i'd like to know what singles you are referring to if you may.
