And I know I'm not the only one who thinks this way and this isn't meant to be offensive or insensitive in any way:
But in a case like with Harambe, a gorilla species that's endangered (on the verge of extinction because of human captivity) why wouldn't we kill the small child instead? Who says a human's life is superior? There's more than 7 billion of us. We aren't endangered or scarce.
In just 7 months, the world human population has grown almost 50 million.

Value is a judgment not an objective fact. The answer to whose life matters more is completely subjective and depends on who you're asking this question to. Most humans value their own lives more than animal lives. And I'm sure that, if animals had opinions, they would say that their own lives are more valuable than humans. If you think that your life is less important than an animal's then let us know, so that if you ever happened to get into the same situation as the child one day we wouldn't hesitate to shoot you instead of the animal.

If I was dumb enough to get myself into that situation then please do shoot me.
so if it was between YOU and the gorilla, you are giving us permission to shoot you instead? you are so dumb i cant even? tree/animal huggers are the absolute worst when it comes to logic
I value human life more than animals.
Humans are more intelligent (yes climate change and loads of ******** exists but we are the most intelligent animal that is undeniable). We can feel pain and grieve in the more complex way.
I love animals though and I hope to one day get into a good place so that I can become a vegan because I think the way animals are treated is cruel and we should work to reduce animal suffering.
