I'm not here for them not adding anymore mega evolutions. A lot of Pokemon still need them to help them become more viable and one type change won't really help them. If these new variations change stats that's different but if they don't then the idea is kind of lost.
But I'll keep my hopes up for Mega Weavile. Here for Ghost/Steel Variation tho
I think they might. The sandshrew info says something about having more defenses but being able to react as fast or be flexible.
Except that for the last 2 years or so fans have been wanting sub species/ variations for already existing Pokemon. It was a pretty big trend. If anything they listened to fans here.
I'm actually shocked they did variations, I remember talking about it and people were like "nope they'd never!!" They've actually been doing a lot of fan requested ideas this Gen it's amazing Gamefreak is doing this. Matsuda steps down from directing a game and our dreams our coming true

The rest are amazing. The ice vulpix is trash just like vulpix haself. I'm going to be disappointed seeing my baby growlithe becoming water Pokémon ugh.
